I have been living in hell for the last three months. Recently diagnosed with depersonalization disorder. My only symptom that bothers me the most is a blank mind. I literally have nothing. It scares me. Has anyone made recovery from this?

example sometimes adjusting my medications fixes the problem, sometimes its just a matter of taking time to breath, relax and do something comforting, sometimes it takes even more grounding such as rowing my canoe around the lake, taking a walk, reconnecting with nature and my body. maybe knowing a bit about dissociation will help you. dissociation is in its newest definitions a completely normal reaction to triggers. how severely one dissociates depends upon ones own triggers and what causes their self to become triggered (uncomfortable, upset, over stimulated to the point where their brain goes through the normal process called Flight, fight or freeze response) looking at the triggers enables a person to know what they need to do to "re ground" their self back out of severe dissociation responses. my suggestion is talk with your treatment providers, they can help you figure out if meds will help you and what other things you need to do for you, that will help you to not dissociate so bad. |
