Hi everyone. Hope you are all coping as best you can in your own part of the world.
I was doing fine initially - better than most people around me I would say. We coped with it as we do with anything - by being super informed to have some semblance of control. We were so very relieved when we finally went into mandated shut down as we knew that was THE only appropriate thing to do. So once that happened we were like - whew!
At first we coped really well, but as time has gone on we have found ourselves struggling a ton. The external shut down seems to have translated into an internal shut down too. We feel dissociated all the time, can't think, can't move, can't motivate. We are expected to be working in home and have found the online team meetings almost impossible - we are dissociating a ton in them. I have been aware the last week or so of little ones around who are confused and terrified to now find that "the world is broken". We are doing our best to explain the situation to these inner ones who we can't really communicate well with yet, and it doesn't really seem to be helping much.
We "see" T again on Zoom on Friday. I hope she will be able to help us get grounded.
This is so unexpected, we are struggling so much just to be conscious.
How is everyone else doing?

So weird - why does the whole post not show up in the original post?

Hi, Amyjay, I'm sorry about everything. I may not have DID, but sometimes I wonder. I have times when I have evidence of fixing myself something to eat but I don't remember doing it. It happens when I'm sleeping. So maybe I'm just sleepwalking. I've been known to sleepwalk in the past, according to other people. I do have voices all the time, but that's not the same thing. Anyway, I'm glad to have the chance to talk to you again because most people don't understand things like this. As far as dealing with this pandemic goes, I'm stronger than I thought I was, most of the time. But sometimes it really gets me down. Thank you for posting this thread. I wish you nothing but the best, Amyjay!
