We were hospitalized for ER surgery. Couldn't walk after. Insiders being kept quiet by one who does medical stuff. Then five days into our stay, suddenly a cacophony of voices screaming we had to get out of there now. Suddenly shakily on walker, in hospital gown we are heading for the door. Everyone was panicking wanting to run out. Totally unable to walk.
Nurses came running in. Thought we were in severe pain and loaded us up with meds. We lied to Doctor to get released a few days later. We never do that. Never lie. Never endanger our surgical recovery. Nobody inside seemed to know what caused this. Then yesterday we had two rehab home session in a row. During the second one felt that panic starting. Insiders said it was everyone in the masks. Had to get away from them. Whatever it took. Know we have trouble wearing a mask. It reminds us of events during abuse. We start holding our breath. But don't understand why other people wearing them is so affecting us. Anyone else having trouble with other people in masks? Or any insights? |

my point is since here in america masks are part of almost everyones normal every day and special events life like holidays, birthday parties, school activities, where DID is concerned there is ..... Usually...... an alter that deals with these normal part of life events like mask wearing if thats a trigger. DID is a dissociative disorder where if someone is triggered another takes control and handles that trigger. so ask inside and find out who is the one that usually handles these triggering mask situations and ask their help. my suggestion since you are co conscious (can hear the insiders) maybe ask inside who is the one that takes care of problems associated with masks all through out your life time and ask that alter to handle the situation for you. my next suggestion is contact your treatment provider they may have suggestions on how to handle hospitalizations, covid 19 and mask wearing. |

Thanks. We used your advise to find out who. Discovered there were many and whoever helps was either one of them or not around. But just trying your suggestion helped. Will continue to try.
It also raised and unknown issue. We have been doing PT at home after surgery. All wear masks but our regular guy arrives, stands 6+feet from the door with his mask down and says just want you to see my face and that I'm smiling. No problem. Due to a schedule conflict, had two others come in a row that arrived masked and stayed masked. That panicky feeling was coming back. Luckily they left before it got serious. Don't know what this is all about. Thanks for helping. |

I have an issue with people in gloves, a huge issue with it (and I know it isn't the same,) but it also connects to my abuse, so I hate it- I think people in gloves are
Possible trigger:
I don't know how I feel about masks. I would refuse to wear one myself, (simply because I would worry about breathing), other people in them.... I do feel anxious about it, but I don't get as bad as the gloves I wish gloves were banned |

gloves are manditory for certain professions and places here in america but not all places and people example care providers yes, the general public no but we do have a majority of general public that have voluntarily for their own self care taken to wearing gloves. some have even invested in some pretty cool vintage style glove wearing. while shopping I saw a woman and her children in white long gloves that the victorian era wore, I can see many glove styles of days gone by coming back into style and franklly some people sure can wear gloves and look great doing so

We know the rationale is to not spread the virus , but that good reason doesn't help us. The doc put us on anti anxiety med. Cuz sometimes we absolutely have to go out. Found a lot of ways to get out of it.
But if we dissociate, we don't accomplish the tasks we left the house for. We have then have to suffer flashbacks for a day or two. It's not like there some place we can go. |

It's less the actual masks than how ppl are literal in fear of any coming anywhere within 6 feet of each other now .the governors who say you must wear it even if theres no one near you on the street or on foot and bike trails. Soon they will use drone to monitor compliance 24/7

Trouble with masks. Have to wear 1 in every store. Understand why. Hate it all at this time. Why always us? Why us in the middle of trauma therapy when all this crap has to hit.
Masks = cannot tell anyone what's happening. Don't show your face. Do not speak. Follow the rules and be quiet. Follow the rules or you might die. __________________ |
