I have amnesiatic dissociative disorder, though it is not quite as bad as it used to be. It used to freak me out, I called it losing time. It couldn't be due to anything cool like being abducted by aliens, it's my brain. Apparently I function okay, when like this, the times I have caught it people just say I am really quiet and do whatever I am doing. I didn't repress memories as a child this did happen till I hit 40, so it's weird.

@16PennyNail welcome to MSF. I am sorry you have that challenge. How difficult does it make life?

Are there any treatment options you can pursue?

I have always wondered about that, the initial trauma psychiatrist I had, this was his specialty. He never seemed to be too concerned about it, as I was highly functional. Perhaps their thinking that getting the anxiety, depression, and nightmares under control would somehow alleviate it maybe? It has gotten better as time has gone on, so that is a relief. It could be they now have me so drugged up that the mechanisms that cause it just can't work. They tried ketamine therapy, which I don't remember a bit of it, hard to say if it helped or not?

@16PennyNail I hope you're doing better. I mentioned ketamine to my DID T. I vaguely recall he didn't think it was what I needed and he said it's expensive. My insurance probably wouldn't have covered it.
