But I had a wild experience Sunday morning and I didn't know where else to post this. I could have sworn that I was living in a dream Sunday morning. I was working on a project of mine but felt so disconnected from it that I kept losing my tools and just wandering around my shop. My father had to finally step in and help me. I remember thinking I was dead and maybe this was the afterlife, but I don't really believe in an afterlife so that's really atypical for me. It passed by early afternoon but it's really just the worst event in over a week now of feeling very dissociated/depersonalized.

Derealization/depersaonlization can be such an unnerving experience. I find that dissociative episodes cause me to be very tired, too. You probably already know that dissociation is almost always the result of trauma (PTSD). Are you in therapy?

I had an online therapist but I quit talking to her back at the first of the year. I wish I knew what triggered this last episode, I did have a traumatic event happen to me a little over a year ago that I think this is all linked to. I also think that being largely separated from my social networks and other activities that I would usually do to relax and get out of the house because of the virus situation is not helping.

Yeah. It's really difficult for me and for most people, being unable to attend IRL support groups, therapy, any support systems.

There's a forum with a ton of info on derealization, it's called dpselfhelp.com.
