Trig I DO Have A Eating Problem May Trigger!!!

I don't like to admit this, but I do have a problem with eating too much. My H told me a very long time ago that he won't have a over weight wife. He has gotten on me when I have gained weight enough that it is noticeable. When we were married 25 years ago I was wearing a small size kids pants, and I was under 5ft, and very small boned. Now I ,I've lost a couple of inches. I watch what I eat, and how much. I normally have toast for breakfast/lunch, and I may, or may not have dinner. If I have dinner it is normally something in a small amount. If dinner is something that I really like I eat a lot for me, then for a few days after I am very careful about what I eat. I bounce around all the time with around 10 pounds. My H would be very happy if I could get back to what I weighed when we married. Now I guess I have taken on my H's thinking about my weight, and fight with that. I never try to make myself sick bc I can't stand to TU! But I do limit what I eat, and am almost always on a diet.

From your description it doesn't sound like you have a disorder. Very few people who are middle age weigh what they did 25 years ago. Does your husband weigh the same? What would be say it you said you would not have a marginally overweight husband?!

I scored high on the quiz, and it would be so easy for me to get below what I should be, but so far I am not under weight. My H has said several times that he needs to loose weight, but he doesn't change his eating habits, and hasn't been able to loose hardly any. He would say he is trying, but he rely isn't trying seriously, and he is at least 25 pounds over weight.

If you feel you have an eating disorder, it's best to get treatment right away. I'm 40 years old and have been carrying this baggage since I was 19. It gets better and worse at times but never goes completely away like I wish is would. Cognitive behavior therapy & depression meds helped me. Well, the therapy did, not so sure about the meds though they did give me stuff to help with the horrid insomnia I had.

I do see a Pdoc. and a T, they are aware that I have a problem with eating.

The #1 concern I have would be regarding your husband.
It's practically impossible to learn to love yourself and fight intrusive, unhealthy thoughts when the person who should be your main support (and love you no matter what you look like) is, instead, being controlling and critical.

I unfortunately don't have any support at home. My H has a lot of issues him self, but won't do anything about them. He thinks he has made it this far in life, so why fix things. He has said a couple times that he would go to anger management, but when the time comes it is, he is fine. He is like this with seeing a Dr., a Dentist, ect. He was pushed when he was young, that he had to be a tough man, like Jon Wane for a example, and that is how he is. As far as my weight goes, he has told me so many times that all the females in his family are very over weight, and he won't be with anyone overweight, and that especially means me!!!
