Every time I eat something that way my brain will associate pain with eating and then I will stop eating. I hate food. I hate feeling I am a hostage to food. I hate my aging body.

This can be where survivors search for mother and father figures. Transference issues in counseling can occur and this is normal for childhood abuse survivors.

I'm sorry I don't have anything to offer with regard to this. But I noticed no one had replied to your post. So I thought I would. I don't have a problem with food. But I am held hostage by other things. (I'll spare you the details.) I hate my aged body.

Hi Moxie,

What if, instead of intentionally creating a negative association to food by hitting yourself, you worked on creating a positive association by watching cat videos (or whatever makes you smile)? You may not ever love to eat, and no one loves how their body fails as it gets older, but if you pick a happy thing that you only do while eating, you may be able to look forward to that treat.
