I think i may be developing an eating disorder but at the same time, i dont think I am. I usually get too paranoid about someone finding it out and try to stop myself. But I have starved myself and have also made myself throw up, but not for long periods of time. It usually lasts for less then a week and then I start overthinking it and get scared someone will figure it out, which i dont want them to. But then i end up going back to it and then the cycle repeats.
Like, with throwing up, i think about what it will do to my teeth and my voice, which makes me stop for a bit. And then with starving, I start thinking about metabolism and how it wont help. But for some reason I keep coming back to it? I dont really know...what it is. But i dont think its a disorder since its not going on for months on end and I havent actually lost any weight from it so it cant be. I would just like someone to confirm that i dont have an eating disorder. |

Sorry but I can't reassure you.
Starving oneself or throwing up willfully is not normal. If it happens regularly over a period of time, I think you should talk to a counselor/therapist. My best friend used to do that, I know it feels shameful, but it can get worse if it isnot addressed. |
