Hi there.

Im thinking of buying a fitbit, but Im not sure what model.

Actually I would like something filigran like the 'Flex' model. I really love the modest look of that one.

But as far as I read, it has no heart-rate monitor.

The 'Alta HR' has it, but is also bigger and more smartwatch like which I dont like so much.

How important is the HR-Monitor? When buying this kind of stuff I would like to have something thats accurate...

On the other hand I barely do real exercising but want to track my steps and bike riding and stuff like that.

Are there any other advantages about the Alta HR to know about?

Does anybody know if it also connects w the 'fat-secret' app?

I don’t know anything about that specific model,

But, I have the charge 2.

It tracks my my heart rate, steps, stairs, calories burned, the specific exercise I’m doing and my sleep. I can also set alarms on it. It’s easy to log in the food I eat with the app. You can set a calorie goal yourself or you can have them set it for you.

The reason I got the charge 2, is because I can get text notifications. So if I’m at work and I get a text, my Fitbit will vibrate and I can just look at my watch without taking out my phone.

I got mine on Black Friday weekend 2016. It still works great. Price wise, since it was that particular weekend, I paid $170 with the 2 year warranty.

It’s been amazing. I’ve lost 30 pounds. It’s also helpful when I just use the app.

I have the fitbit charge 2 and I love it. It helps motivates me. I have lost 36 pounds since January by tracking food on my fitness pal and by walking mostly and doing weights.

I have a Garmin Vivosmart 3. You may want to consider this too. It is well made and the heart monitor is accurate. This surprises me. The phone app is more impressive. However, I did have the Fitbit Charge 2. That is a nice activity monitor too.

The only way to see if you are getting a cardio workout, which I think is very important, is by checking your pulse. IMO an accurate heart monitor helps out allot here. It is a waste of money to get a band that takes inaccurate heart beat readings.
