I've been feeling good because even though I've been more on a maintenance diet the past couple of weeks (small deficits), I saw some minor weight loss on the scale, but it's definitely becoming noticeable in my clothes and how they fit. Everything is too big. I think my bras are even a bit too big now.
I also spent time this past week relaxing with friends and just doing things beyond focusing about goals and just relating to people. And I think that made a big difference for me and my enjoyment of life. This morning I took my two dogs on a 2 mile jog and I feel really good. I just keep moving and trying to move forward and don't let small set backs ruin my whole journey. __________________ What if I fall? Oh, my dear, but what if you fly? I managed to stick to my diet for the first day in over two months so that is a cause for celebration.

I lost another pound. I walked yesterday and the day before. I feel fine. I will continue dieting for awhile. I might just diet for a long time because APs make me gain weight. I used to be over 90 pounds overweight but now am about 30 pounds overweight. I want to lose 5 pounds a month. Thus, it will take me about 6 or 7 months to lose 30 pounds. Oh well.

I walked for two hours then ate two pieces of chocolate. oh well. I think I consumed the calories I used by walking. At least the chocolate was tasty. Tonight is chicken drumsticks. Yeah!!

Rounded up to 158 this morning. I have been overeating lately then putting in a lot of cardio/paddling to make up for it. Mixed feelings on that; it isn't necessarily overeating when I expend the energy to account for it and my arms, chest and abs are getting better definition again, but I would feel better about it it if this was the result of a proactive plan instead of a largely reactive cycle of eating too much and increasing the burn to account for it.
I feel better about being in the upper 150s, as opposed to lower 150s, if my core has good definition. 164 would be a BMI of 24.9, so I am whining about the difference between being in great shape or just really good. This is a much better problem than I had a couple of years ago at a BMI of ~34. __________________ | |Up and down |And in the end it's only round and round |Pink Floyd - Us and Them | |bipolar II, substance use disorder, ADD |lamictal, straterra | Last edited by UpDownAround; May 05, 2019 at 01:01 PM.. My Geodon increase has caused uncontrollable hunger these past two days. I’ll eat a giant burger from sonic and won’t feel full at all. I swore I’d never again gain weight as a result of psych meds. I’m not sure I want to stay on this new dose if this is the case because there’s no doubt if I continue eating this way I’ll gain massively.

Rounded up to 159 this morning. A "GI pipeline" event after weighing has me less concerned, but still need to start trending down again.

Actually Saturday I was 153. Not Friday. 4 pounds in 2 days is ridiculous and I was eating well over 3500 calories each day so it was real weight. I went back on the lower dose tonight. I’ll weigh on Wednesday.

4 pounds would be 3500 * 4 = 14,000 above what you need to stay even for 2 days, so about 17,000 calories in 2 days. Something like 4 pounds of hamburger, 2 pounds of cheese and 2 pounds of butter would come close to doing it. Spread out over time, it takes less than most people think to gain weight. In a short amount of time, it takes more to gain weight than most people think. When this is really important is if you have a binge/setback - a lot of people throw in the towel and start gaining big time again when the setback would have been a half pound or so. But the immediate effects due to water and increased food in the gut is much higher and people freak.

I walked for over an hour. I am still maintaining my weight. I ate a lot yesterday. I'm happy that I did not gain any weight. I ate a yogurt and had hot cocoa this morning. Now, I'm waiting for dinner.

I was 155 today. I noticed a drastic decrease in my hunger since going on the lower dose of the Geodon last night. Since the change in hunger happened so abruptly the Geodon was definitely the culprit. My moods are being affected again, but I’d rather be skinny and moody then gain weight.

I know I have said it before but I hope to do it this time.I want to lose 28 pounds in the next month. So starting tomorrow I am going to start a 1200 calorie a day diet and I am going to exercise every day too.I won't go over 1200 calories. It is straight in my head this time,do I want to eat stuff I shouldn't and keep gaining weight or do I want to eat the right foods and be healthy and lose weight.Definitely the second one,I want to lose weight and be healthy, active and independent.

I gave myself a reprieve from weighing this morning, which I am not very proud of. I am almost certainly at the top or just above my maintenance range. It would be a spike, but I didn't want to see it. So this afternoon I will do a long paddle, tomorrow AM I will go to the gym and both days I am planning to eat very light. If I can stick to that, Friday's weigh in should be fine. I think my "true weight" is in my range now but the splurges of the last few days would likely push the scale above it today. Still the disclaimer that I am not talking about being outside the healthy/normal range, just outside my personal range which tops out at a BMI of 24.2.

I was 154.2 today. I thought I would be 153 something because I had around 1100 calories yesterday but I think I had a lot of sodium too. I think my calculator is saying 1,142 for today. I’m not 100% sure. It might be 100 calories or so over. Which isn’t a big deal.

I weighed last night. I was about to hop in the shower, had just eaten late, after paddling SUP for 10 miles. I was 158. I am sure I was pretty dehydrated as i only drank one 16 ounce bottle of water while paddling, but I am still managing to avoid seeing 160 on the scale. Going to the gym tonight. Planning another long paddle on Saturday if all goes well.
