Yesterday was another ugly day of overeating and I dreaded this morning's weigh in and then...

Rounded up to 155. Huh? A drop of 2 pounds., when I suspect that the last 3 days have enough overage to make me gain half a pound. I know it bounces around, but today didn't seem like it would be a low bounce day.

I didn’t weigh myself at home but I was weighed at the doctors. With shoes on I was 151. That’s not too bad.

Awesome - 15 pounds. I found it really helpful to hit some early milestones and feel like I was really doing it, not just thinking about or just starting. Made me feel like I had a "lead to protect" and it kept me from justifying having some high calorie stuff because I really hadn't started yet and I would just start tomorrow instead.

I was 150 exactly this morning. I’ve been splurging this past week because it was my birthday and then my moms. So I went out to dinner and lunch a few times, and then did some snacking as well. I also drank a ton of water last night.

Today my calculator says I had 1,190 calories. I’m not feeling the greatest so I just picked at a TV dinner that was 180 calories. I need to eat a snack around 9 with a medication. So it should equal to around 1,220 calories for the day.

I have been splurging for 3 days and dreaded weighing this morning, but it was 155. I was dehydrated; I almost immediately drank 16 oz right after weighing. Also, when it is calories dense stuff, the gain can take a few days. It isn't a surplus until digested and then it is food after that that starts getting stored as fat until you have a deficit again and it starts getting converted back.

@Mountaindewed

is the Topamax you have been taking helping you lose weight and prevent new weight gain?

has it been helping you keep your weight in check?

I wouldn’t say it’s all the topamax. I switched benzos as well. My Ativan made me ravenous. My Xanax makes me not hungry. Lately I’ve been feeling very sick due to a sinus and ear infection and from the antibiotics I’ve been on. So managing my weight really hasn’t been an issue. But it’s been a variety of things. Not just the topamax.

I was 147.6 today. My stomach hurts so bad because of my antibiotic. I had an iced coffee at 480 calories, but I didn’t finish it. That was a huge mistake. I feel like throwing up. I’m not sure what else I’ll be eating today.

Did they give you that nasty erythromycin?

No it starts with an A. I forget what it’s called. It’s not a long name though.

Today I was 147.2. I’ve had 910 calories so far.

Well,it's been really hard and I haven't been able to keep calories down to 1200.But I am managing below 1600.Before my diet I am certain I was eating around 4000 calories a day so it is an improvement.

Yesterday I ate weetabix with almond milk and banana for breakfast, vegetable soup for lunch and dinner was at a Mexican restaurant,I had fried calamari in batter for a starter and veggie bean burger with guaguamole and sweet potato fries and a cocktail. So I think around 2000 calories.Today I had weetabix and banana for breakfast again,345 calories, and chicken breast and mushroom risotto for 630 calories and for dinner a falafel and roasted vegetables panini for 600 calories and a toasted crumpet with butter,117 calories. So today a total of 1692 calories.

I found it easy to resist sugary treats, chocolate, biscuits and ice creme but harder to say no to my favourite savoury meals and I am finding it hard to keep my portions small. But I will keep trying every day to get it right.

I have not weighed myself since the 6th February.I will probably get weighed again when I see the diabetic dietician on February 14th.

156 yesterday, 155 this morning. My attempts at dropping a few more have been too half hearted. I am at a great weight - BMI hovering under 24 lately.

I’ve discovered that double chocolate nesquik milk in 14oz bottles is a pretty good idea when I can’t stomach actual food but I’m a little bit below on my calories. It’s 260 calories a bottle and has 14 grams of protein. I can’t think of anything else. I don’t want to go the ensure route. I think Slim Fast would be dangerous since I’m not overweight. Chocolate milk seems like my only option. Does anyone have any other suggestions on what I can drink?

Slim Fast isn't dangerous; it just isn't a great option for most people as it can leave you hungry. But when you aren't hungry and just trying to add some calories and protein it's fine. There is some pricey boutique stuff that's fruity and has protein. I like Muscle Milk; you can often catch it on sale. Depending on how much trouble you want to go to, smoothies are good. We have a Magic Bullet, so whipping up a yogurt, fruit and milk smoothie is pretty quick. But there is nothing wrong with chocolate milk or regular milk. I would get with my doc and see if I couldn't figure out what's up; you should still be able to eat when you are under 1200.

I am a broken record, which isn't necessarily a bad thing - 155.

what calculators do you guys recommend using for tracking how many calories you take in per day?

based on some free online tools I have used they recommended 1200 calories per day for faster weight loss.

I use MyFitnessPal. Web site and phone app. It has a pretty complete database and even the free version gives you a lot of reporting.

I just use the calculator app on my phone. I used to use the Fitbit app but I haven’t used my Fitbit in awhile.

Today I was 145.6. I am pretty sick so that’s why the scale is going down so fast.
