I'm spending too much on lottery tickets in hopes of recovering the cost of my losses playing various lottery games. Just took money out of savings to play again. I see a bad indication of a problem here.

I agree. It's a good thing you're recognizing it, though. Try to scale down the amount of tickets you buy, perhaps? Would that work?

Just discard all tickets. Then it will definitely work.

It helps to stay out of stores that you normally would buy them in. I am an alcoholic in recovery and am able to go in liquor stores but not ones I used to buy alcohol in.

Just keep reminding yourself that you have a higher chance of getting struck by lightning than winning the lottery.

Have you ever won? I haven't bought a lottery ticket in more than a dozen years because I have never really won (don't think winning $5 really counts). It is my understanding that the addiction is more likely when reinforced. Remember, the house always wins, If you have ever won then by continuing to play, you will give it all back. Could you use the time dreaming about winning looking for a part time job instead?
