Sometimes I become impulsive and I can have a hard time controlling the urges. For example:
I feel silly for asking this, but how does a person control impulsive behavior? __________________ |

I think seeing a therapist would be the first step. I also am impulsive. impulsivity is actually a feature of borderline personality disorder, so if you have suffered trauma you may want to research this.

I think therapy would help. Coming up with goals and a plan to help curtail the urges would be a great starting point if you choose to do that. Love&light

I have impulse control, too. Adjusting my meds helped me some but I work with a therapist as well. I could have written you post. I've done all those things only to have regrets later.

Stand in front of a mirror and talk, yes out loud, about this impulse. Once done, how would you as your friend respond, say it out loud. Keep the shouting to a minimum.
