Recently I’ve started hearing this voice in my head it’s terrifying it sounds just like me but I know it isn’t me these thoughts are not mine and I dont know what this is. All I know is that it doesn’t like me it wants me to end my life and I’m afraid I’ll slip and give In. it’s hard to hold on when everything it says makes perfect sense. I’m just wondering if anyone has experienced this before.

Yes, I very much have the experience you've described. For me, it's been going on for some years. Maybe many years, I'm not exactly sure. The voice(s) are sometimes my own, but are usually someone else who threatens me in some way or "warns" me of impending doom. Also, one of the voices tells me to hurt myself. It's very, very annoying and upsetting.

My pdoc is currently trying to settle on a medication that can calm those voices (and other busy-ness in my mind). The sounds are never from outside of my mind, but are always within. Also, therapy actually has helped to quiet the voices to some extent.

Are you in any treatment?

Molotov720- I think you may need to work out whatever it is that is causing you to hear your own voice unspoken. If you are referring to your thoughts, but they differ from how you actually feel, please consider that you may be brainwashing yourself with too much social media. Why can't we all find time to sit alone with our thoughts? I know that it can sometimes be difficult to find alone time, and to fill in those gaps we may distract ourselves with music, tweets, twitter, instagram, or television and movies. If we do too much of the same, like listen to our favorite song over and over, those thoughts or lyrics get stuck in our head. I think it is healthy that you can distinguish an annoying tune from your own thoughts. But please be sure you are finding time to sleep in when you need to and don't carry shame or guilt that others may try to burden you with. I have found when I was out of town, and was unable to get enough sleep, that I felt like I was carrying the thoughts of ghosts with me. AND I felt that others could hear those ghost too. It was a very scary experience for me.

Yeah, I've been through what you're describing. I never quite knew how to describe it but I can relate to what you're saying. The voices in my head go up and down but are usually persistent. I am working on this in treatment, trying to, anyway. Sorry to hear you're struggling, I hope this thread can help you a bit.
