Hello,
I work as a hiking guide and I take my clients for long hikes in the countries of East Asia that go as high as 15000 ft. I am a very stressful person and I have the habit of fretting even during simple situations, let alone the truly stressful ones that are very likely during such long hikes in that part of the world. Most of the time my clients appreciate my work but more than once they have remarked that I am very much stressed during the hike and recommended that I de- stress. My next long hike is in the Himalayas which is due on about 3 weeks. I am taking Remeron for the past few weeks but I don't think it's gonna help me with the stress. Someone recommended me an app called Insight Timer but since there's a plethora of meditations to choose from I feel completely overwhelmed. Could anyone please let me know of any meditation that I can practice and follow at least some time so that I can be less stressed and also prepare myself better for unprecedented events? Thank you.

I suggest learning to practise Mindfulness. Note, this is not meditation. I recommend you look up how to do this and see example exercises. Being outdoors such that you will be is an ideal place for this as Mindfulness has much to do with connecting yourself to where you are in the here and now. Mindfulness is about rooting yourself and 'feeling' your place in the moment.
