I think that such people exist, and I think I may be starting to see what the differences between them and myself are. I think a very important one is that I fight against things I don’t need to.

For me, I work to accept what bothers me so I can keep myself moving forward. Yes, there are some horrid events that impact a person's life. To me, the key is to face them so I can figure out what to do.

My most important recovery work is healing my self-esteem. That's my focus because I know firsthand that the shape my self-esteem is in determines how I manage my life. That also helps me maintain a positive attitude believing that everything will work out somehow.

So, I keep working on my blogs, focusing on the subjects I know the most about hoping to help others. I see a lot of pain and unhappiness around me and in the world; I think I can help.

To be honest I don’t know anyone who is truly happy. Once a person is genuine to you, they will tell you their life problems.

I’m not happy all the time but the majority of the time I feel fine except for my sleep issues and I know I have a lot going for me right now. I am comfortable where I am at. But there are days where I’m not happy. I have SAD though so I know in a month I’ll be downright depressed and discouraged and feeling totally hopeless for a few months. So I am enjoying the good moods while they last.

Yes it is the most annoying thing. I know so many people who are more or less happy. They don't let things get to them. They see the good in people and when people are bad, they don't really dwell on it. I really think I am super messed up and am not sure I will ever be able to be like that. Honestly I feel they are kind of delusional.

Nobody can be happy 100% of the time. You need the dark to see the light. You don't know what happy is unless you experience the other emotions. Some people may be more skilled at moving back to happy quicker. They may be better at putting on a front. They may just be at a good point in their lives. It's a really tricky and dangerous game to compare yourself to others.

I look at it more as content. I am content with the way things are going. Even the trauma of my daughter running away I was able to handle it sober/

I'm not unhappy. I try to have a certain amount of fun every day. I'm a believer in small pleasures and I work to enjoy them daily, and do have bigger pleasures a number of times throughout the year. Not every day is some ultra marvelousness, but "happy" doesn't mean elated. I don't have an "ideal" situation, as others would define it, but I don't live my life to meet goals that reach what others define as necessary for happiness.

There are many people who are rich and powerful that aren't happy. There are also people that are poor that are. To limit one's self to certain conditions for happiness is a pity.

I am truly happy even with problems that crop up in life. My life environment is exactly what makes me happy. Problems are just speedbumps along the road. They don't change the happiness of the road I'm on. They create challenges but not unhappiness. Huge difference.

I love my life the way it is. I love my farm & my animals & my friends. It is so much more wonderful than my life was for 54 years. I am thankful to be exactly where I am & with thankfulness comes happiness because I count my blessings instead of complaining about how bad life is.

Well I think you would first have to come up with a definition of happiness that we could all agree on. It’s so hard to say what happiness really is and it’s doubtful that anyone is feeling it every day, all day long. The human condition naturally comes with struggle and hardships. We all have to take the good with the bad. Sometimes I feel happy just thinking about all the hardships I’ve overcome. In many ways I’m a better and happier person because of the hard times that shaped me into a stronger and wiser person.

"Happy" is an odd funny sounding word. Life has challenges, I feel good over coming them.
