Hi all!
My sister was diagnosed with SAD and I want to know what are some ways I can help her , without making her feel that i am " trying too hard" or "treating her differently". Our family is very supportive, and wants to help her in any way we can. We discovered that she feels "rejected" by us , without her telling us, what are some ways to help feel unrejected or even get her to open up ? thanks so much! |

Hello lisaloves: I see this is your first post here on PC. So... welcome to Psych Central. Since you're here for your sister, the Partners of People & Caregivers forum may be of interest to you. Here's a link:
https://psychcentralforums.com/partn...ivers-support/ The depression forum may also be of interest: https://psychcentralforums.com/depression/ By SAD I presume you're referring to seasonal affective disorder. So here are links to 6 articles, from Psych Central's archives, on the subject along with links to 4 articles on how to help someone who has depression: Seasonal Affective Disorder Self-Help Strategies for Seasonal Affective Disorder Are You SAD This Winter? I am unclear what you are asking. Are you saying you want to help her but she rejects you or doesnt seem to want help? Or do you want to help her but do not know how?
