I just start saying the words without pre-thinking them. Once I get into the subject I have to keep going. And then there's the relief of having spoken what seemed impossible to say.

I try to hint at what ever it is, without saying it
then hope that the other person brings it up not the best way to go about things, as the other person may not even follow what I'm trying to say, but it's all I've got.. |

I don't (& there's a bunch of it.) I just keep it all to myself. Realistically there's nothing anyone can do or say that will help anyway. Sometimes I wonder how long I can keep it up. But I just keep doing it. I don't really see any realistic alternative.

I write it out and then give it to whoever. Once they read it I can usually open up a little more. But there's not much I won't/can't talk about.

Similar to @Raindropvampire I write things down for later. Usually this is to give to someone specific, but if my thoughts / advice is of a sensitive nature, then I'll always write in shorthand, speak to the person and then incinerate it afterwards.
Except what I cannot do is provide medical advice outside the doctors' surgery where I'll be shortly working because of ethical reasons. This applies to internet forums or any public place. Otherwise I'm quite happy to open up to another person unless they question my friends and family. I never discuss my loved ones because they deserve privacy and sometimes I have to tell others this. If someone desperately needing help approaches me, then I'll either point them to the right person, or, encourage them the best way possible. A fisherman must have stars to steer by, so to me it's all about common sense. |
