Does anyone else have trouble reading solid walls of text or really long posts? I will open a thread and if it is long and isn't broken up into paragraphs I have a really, really hard time reading it. In fact most of the time I close the thread and move on.

I am trying to work on this because I enjoy a challenge. I do have adhd and I am sure that contributes. Does anyone else have this problem or and ideas on focusing? Should I simply accept the fact that my brain does not work that way?

I do. It makes me go blind, and like you I move on.

Yes, I do. The computer makes my eyes hurt and to read a "wall of text" causes eye pain.

Yes this certainly can be a challenge. As I think most members here on PC know, I primarily reply to posts by new members. And it's not unusual for these to be walls of text. Sometimes the moderators will go through & break the text up into paragraphs (which is greatly appreciated!) But not always. I simply do the best I can with the ones that are left as they were written. There have been at least one or two though I can recall that were so long I ended up skimming parts of the post. I don't like to do that. But there is a limit.

Even when Im doing really well I just can’t do Wall O Text ! Let alone if I’m not doing well.

I just can’t/ don’t want to struggle through it. I do scroll right past them or close the thread

I might have a lot to say but I break up my responses into numerous small paragraphs with good space between them.

I had one person PM and complain about how I respond on here, that I take up too much space .. I was like hu?? What??

Anyway I personally love paragraphs lol

I need paragraphs!

I don't even attempt to read walls of text. They are just way too hard on the eyes, and impossible for me to decipher.

Haha, people should think like journalists.

One sentence paragraphs are okay.

Like others I find I just can't wade through walls of text. I feel badly about closing and moving on, but do so.

At least I am not alone. I want to be supportive and can occasional skim. However most of the time I just can't.

A wall of text is very hard on my eyes. My eyes have trouble focusing. Separating each line from another is too hard. People who post a wall of words often have a multitude is issues. I do try to read but it gets too hard on my brain. Maybe double spacing of lines might help though I dont think that people will do it.

Hey, ______. (Legal-name.) I'm Anna.

Hang in there. It does get better. (Your online-name.)

This is also my attempt to socialize. It feels good. (I have schizotypal tendencies. Ex: stores are a challenge for me, especially when crowded.) I am trying to make friends.

I advise you to keep a diary of your thoughts. My mom would agree. ; )

Have a good night.
