If you are willing to share anything, what has the experience been like?

I will share mine later, as I don't want to bias anyone up-front. But I certainly have had many of these over the years.

I’ve had many in dream form, and when I do... I get really upset. Mine are never good... usually about illness and death. Some might say that’s a good thing but it’s absolutely awful. Other times I don’t have actual visions, I just get a “feeling” in the moment. To know what someones gonna say, when my phone will ring, which song will play next on my phone, what number will be called in bingo lol these are all way more than just “coincidence “ again I get a certain feeling and I can idk how to explain it... sometimes i see it in my head, other times i just have a strong sense towards something

Thank you so much for sharing, panda.

Have any of these ever happened while you were wide awake?

Do they always come true or almost always come true? Please don't answer if this is at all triggering for you.

Huh. Okay, well, I guess my experiences in this arena are a bit less common than I had imagined initially. Good to know.

I get “hunches” when bad things are about to happen in the world. More like a thought in the back of my head. Usually I can tell something bad will happen when things have been quiet for awhile. When there hasn’t been anything big for a couple months. Then suddenly we’re hit with something. Usually it’s a mass shooting. I get the feeling a day or so before. I got the feeling right before Parkland. Same with celebrity deaths. I get a feeling when someone famous is about to die. Right now I don’t feel like that.

And mine are always when I’m awake.

And not exactly a vision but kind of, but I can smell death and it is terrifying. When my cat was dying I could smell it but my mom couldn’t The smell was all over my bed where he was sleeping. It was actually quite sad.

Yeah, you have mentioned this elsewhere before and I find it really interesting. It is I think pretty similar in many ways to what I have experienced, in that there seems to be some accuracy to thesee 'hunches.' I am sorry you have had to deal with these as, now, I imagine they are pretty stressful for you at times.

Oh, I am really sorry. This has to be really difficult for you. I feel for you. I have totally, totlally been there.

Okay, well, I started this thread, so the least I can do is briefly say why. Many years ago, I went through a series of manic episodes all sort of back to back to back over a few months. Maybe, like, 9 months or so. 3 or 4 months before this began, when I was still apparently healthy at least seemingly so, I walked downstairs one night at like, 3 in the morning to get a drink. Got a Coke or something and sat at the counter. House was quiet, everyone in bed, asleep, but me. I looked up to my right and there, suspended in space over the floor at maybe six feet of height or so slowly faded into view what appeared to be a completely holographic flat-screen display of some sort. Maybe five feet across by three feet high. It was a bit fuzzy at first, sort of like TVs used to be back when we had broadcast TV and you couldn't quite get the channel fully dialed in. Fuzzy.

That was weird, I thought. I shook my head out like a puppy dog. Looked again. It was still there. After a moment, a picture came into view. It was my wife. Somehow, a wave came over me at the same time. There were no words with this image, nothing audible, but there somehow was still other information being delivered to me. Downoaded, maybe, is a good way to say it. It just washed over my consciousness. And it wasn't good.

The information was clear. It was unequivocal. I would be getting divorced. Not maybe, not perhaps, not, there's chance of it. No, it was a complete and utter certainty. It was already done. It had already happened, according to the information provided me. 100% done. Finished.

To say I was alarmed is putting it mildly. I was shocked, because at that time, the marriage, though not perfect, was not in any danger I was aware of. It was fine. There was certainy no imminent separation, that was for sure. Not headed for divorce at that time, certainly.

I ws completely blown away. I now knew I was going to be getting divorced, evidently. 6 months later and she was moving out and taking my beloved son with her. Done. Just like I was told would happen.

I have had a whole series of these. They were mostly extremely traumatic, as they mostly portended incredibly trying and difficult challenges, all extremely accurately. Going away to the hospital for a long time, for example. I knew that was going to happen and exactly how five years before it occurred. To the letter. On and on.

One thing I did learn about these after awhile is, there is absolutely nothing you can do to prevent the outcome outlined in the vision from ultimately happening. Nothing. No matter how hard you try to prevent it, it will happen. It is already done. These are not maybe things.

Interestingly, somewhere in the middle of all these awful visions, one additional piece of information was delivered to me about the whole thing: I would somehow get through it all. I would make it. And I would be all right. The exact message was: It will be okay. Some way. It was hard to believe that part, given how scary and hard these were to see, but I did manage to get through it. So far, anyway.

Anyhow, I have always wondered if this was just a bipolar thing or what. I have obviously had a lot of psychosis over the years and I do get that. But psychotic people generally cannot predict the future with a high degree of accuracy, as I have been able to for whatever reason. Very strange.

So, I was kind of hoping someone else would have been through this as well. MD's "hunches" are really fairly similar, probably, in some ways. But I guess maybe we are the only ones.

Sure hope I don't have any more of these.

It’s no problem, i usually don’t get people who even bother to listen about this kind of stuff. I usually only get the “feeling” or “ sense” when I’m awake. Somettimeess i can see last minute things but i see them in the place they appear, for example: i was in the 9th grade amd my friend and I were out walking in our neighborhood, shes raised pagan so she was teaching me about the culture and i started mentioning this 6th sense thing... we were on the right side of the road walking with traffic ( kid things i know we were supposed to be on the opposite side) but i bet her i could tell her if the next 5 vehicles were a truck/van/car, and what color they were without looking... with my back to the traffic, i could “see” what they were before they reached us. And i got all 5 correct. She was beyond shocked. I could picture the vehicle on the road as it approached me and whatever i “felt” it looked like, was what it was. Kind of like when people go gambling and you pull the lever on a machine and see 3 rows roll until hopefully all the pictures match and line up, it’s like that sorta. If im guessing numbers in the moment, i run through them in my head until i get a strong feeling on one of them. I’m usually pretty accurate, happens with songs on the radio too. Ill get in my car, start singing a random song and when i start my car the radio plays that song or plays it next . These all happen when im awake and are in present tense. My dreams are different, they show me futuristic things. Sometimes within the week, sometimes within a month. Never farther than that. Though both awake and a sleep i have dealt with paranormal things too. People ive never met but have confirmed with friends and family that these spirits DID exist and match the description i gave. Dreams arent always so bad though. Lately it’s been more about figuring out if my brain is sorting through the information of my day or if someone is trying to tell me something. Typically the more drained i feel when i wake up, the more serious, real or soon something will happen. Ill wake up feeling achey or sore, sweating, out of breath... like if you fell asleep for a “nap” but woke up 2 hrs later and you feel groggy and dehydrated? Like that.

I had two premonitions involving the rift with my son. I had no reason to think these things. One was a dream which caused me to wake up crying. The idea was that his new family threw us out of their house and our son refused to talk to us. The exact event I dreamed didn’t happen, but the idea did. This was long before I knew there was any underlying trouble. The other one was a thought I woke up with. It was something I had no reason to think and was a total far-fetched idea. Then it happened exactly like I thought. It was the main reason for the rift.

At the time I thought I had no reason to think these things. But, maybe the subconscious knows.

Once when I was about 12 I was at an amusement park and my friends had split into two groups because one set wanted to ride the Ferris wheel and one to get mackinaw island fudge...I was In the fudge group. At one point I started worrying about something happening to my friends...not sure why it wasn’t a time thing more like a thought. It’s not like there were cell phones to check in or anything so we walked over to the Ferris wheel. Well the wheel had broken in a way with the umbrella cover falling down on them and they were stuck at the top like that. They had already returned to the ground but I remember thinking I just was psychic. Nothing else like that has happened since though.

This is extremely interesting. Have any of these feelings, premonitions, visions, whatever they are, ever foertold your own life's future in any way? Your own life's events?

I had posted my experiences then later deleted it here. I will say, that from a young age, I still have experiences of:

psychometry – The ability to obtain information about a person or an object by touch
premonition – The ability to perceive future events
channeling – The ability to communicate with spirits

Thank you for sharing your vision experience here, bpcyclist and for starting this thread. I think it's more common than people are willing to admit, b/c our society does not support it as a normal experience, when it actually is part of being human. While debunkers say that 'psychic experiences' can be attributed to strong analytical skills and well, guessing, I think it's far more than that. And, I don't think you have to be religious to have these experiences. I'm an Atheist, yet, how is it I can hear dead people sometimes, especially since I'm not hallucinating or delusional.

I have visions always awake. Never a sleep.
I get a wave of intense goose bumps that start at my arms travel down to my toes and back up to my head and across my shoulders while my eyes seep.
This wave of intense full body rolling goose bumps will continual to roll up and down my body quite a few times to let me know someone is here or nearby.
The people I see have communicated with me.
It's nothing like the mediums you see on tv, where they have strangers connect to them and can mediate between the person who passed and their family... My visions are of people I know.

One of my vision was amazing. The next day, bc it's so surreal and of course there is no evidence (especially when I'm a factual person) It becomes did that really happen ?.

I'm not medicated, I don't take drugs and I'm not delusional, like I said I'm very factual.

Thanks for sharing, Blanche--I appreciate it. I do think a lot of people who know about my experiences think I am a freak. But that's okay. I will never lie about what happened to me, not for anyone.

I guess each person has strengths and weakness, the visions are giving me something that I might need to see, hear or feel.
Other times I may be listening to someone share an vision story/experience about the other side.
If my eyes seep and the wave of goose bumps roll back and forth then that allows me to believe them, however in that state its opening myself up.
I have never been hurt and would be surprised if it even happens, but I don't know who will come through and it is scary bc we're talking about people who have passed.

I know it sounds all weird and unbelievable as it does to me. I can't even give proof to back any of this up...it just is what it is and If there was some easy to believe explanation I'd be all in.

Never my own future. Only other people’s. No idea why. I’ve had deceased contact me but never about the future. Just checking in more or less that they’re okay.
