Well, does it?
I don’t think it does. It helps to deal with it but some pain will always be an open wound.

I don't believe it does. I think with time the pain lessens somewhat but until you deal with it, just like any wound, it won't heal.

I dont know if all wounds are supposed to heal. I believe that "time" can maybe make it bearable but healing to me is a completed process/ Like a point A to B.

It does, imo, for most things.

I don't have children, but I'd imagine that losing a child might be the hardest to bear.

Otherwise, broken hearts, the death of parents etc definitely can be healed by time.

It depends on the person I think. I’m surprised I don’t have C-PTSD from the stuff I went through as a teenager but as time went by I learned to just let things go and get over them. But this is very unusual and doesn’t happen for most people. At least I don’t think.

Mostly it has for me. While there were a few wounds that required therapy AND time, even with those, I do believe I would have moved mostly past given enough time. Those old wounds don't stay gaping open forever. They scar over and are, for the most part, set aside as life has its way of moving forward. I had one particular "wound" that I honestly kept picking at for a very long time; it kept opening up and festering. But with therapy, I did learn how to let it be long enough so it had a chance to heal.

Not all wounds. Just like you will never grow back your arm if it's cut off, if significant damage is done to you psychologically during your early development then that skews the rest of your adult life. It can't be undone, you didn't develop properly. You can grow and learn to make that wound a smaller and smaller part of who you are, but it will always be there.

As for trauma endured in adulthood, I don't know. I think it's really quite similar. Most people never actually move on after losing a loved one, for instance, they just learn to find a new normal and try to work through their mourning in a healthy way. I think even if you were granted immortality, these events would continue bothering you hundreds of years later. You might just think about them less frequently, or eventually forget, but the pain would still be there.

I don't think time heals all wounds.

I don't profess to be a scientist of any sort nor do I profess to be a philosopher or anything like that, but let me say what I think on this.

I think that time can be a factor in healing, given that the right support is there.

The right support doesn't necessarily mean medical or psychological help. It can be friends, family, or whatever one finds supportive.

Time just distances me from things, so in my experience it has been helpful, but not because it is time.

In truth, I think time just creates the possibility of healing. It doesn't cause the healing. I hope that made sense.

It depends on whether you actually work to heal those wounds or not. If you just float around and expect things to resolve itself, I don't think it usually matters if you give it 30 years. An online coach (by the name Life Coach Stockholm) I spoke with a few times told me that if I wanted to heal my inner wounds, I had to start work with the energy that had stuck in various parts of my body. I think you have to go deep and process the feelings behind the wounds and see which memories and triggers are associated with that wound. Then you should find a good coach who could provide the right tools for you.

Time alone does not but working on things over time can.

Time definitely does not heal all wounds, in my view, but, as mentioned above, we can learn to live with our losses and challenges.

Heals...no. Softens the sharp edges and the pain of the wound less permeating...yes. The wounds can help us learn to rely on our own strength.

I like how emotional wounds are compared to physical ones. I completely agree they are similar. Even a lost limb can get a prosthetic replacement and the technology for those are advancing incredibly. (Shout out to my son who works in this field ) If new things happen that are good, the pain of the wounds tend to lesson.

I agree. I don't think time really heals all wounds. And time doesn't necessarily erase memories either. I remember the things people did, even if they have managed to convince themselves that they didn't really do those things or even if they think they have managed to put enough new personas between their vicious old self and their latest pseudo self. So in that respect wounds can open people up to reality.

I don't know... I tend to differ on that. I think given enough time, all wounds can heal. Especially if one works at it. It does take effort and wanting to heal from past wounds, in my opinion.
