Some members who let you know that they are online have a green dot, otherwise the dot is gray or blue. Not sure why you are not seeing the green dot - are you color-blind?

Thank you, unaluna. No, I'm not color blind. Maybe I just haven't noticed the green dot yet. If you look down on the bottom of your post, on the left side, you'll see that you have a blue dot. So do I. Most posters have a gray dot. I wish I knew why I have a blue dot.

the icons change with what ever theme you choose, responsive blue is the gray and blue dots, psych central theme is the red and green icon. they designate when someone is online or offline.

you can change your themes I find the easiest way to do this is scrolling towards the bottom of the page and you will see bottom left the option (what your present theme is and clicking on that will show you what the other themes are called. select the theme you want psych central to look like for you.

I see the dot as blue. I'm super sensitive to color, so I'm thinking that seeing it as green is either computer differences or forum formats.

if you play around with changing your themes you will see its not a computer format thing. each theme has its colors, and icons.

example - black smart has a black theme and its icons for being on and off line are smile faces in yellow and red

responsive blue theme is blue and white and its on and off line icons are blue and gray

psych central theme is tan and blue and its icons are not dots more like outlines of a head and shoulder and its colors are green and red for online and off line

the spring theme is green and yellow and its on and off line icons are green and dark purplish blue.

tulip theme is pink and off white and its on and off line icons are green and blue

desert sand is dark sand colored and its on and off line icons are green and dark tan

black teal is black and teal colored and its icons for on and off line are the words off line and online not dots.

each theme you choose its a different colored theme and the icons for on and off line may look different.

everyone can choose their own themes in their profile settings or go to the bottom of the page and click on the themes they want.

Thank you, amandalouise. "Format" was the wrong word...I meant theme. Thanks for reminding me about the themes, they're fun to experiment with.

I think I have finally figured out that the blue dot on the post means the poster is here, & the gray dot means they are not here right now.

Yes it means the member is logged on. Mine probably says I am logged on constantly but I tend to not log out when I am finished posting and switch over to something else on my computer or phone. I’m lazy and forget to log out a lot.
