Hi all, I'm here to rant because I believe I have BPD, have for a while now. I first became suspicious of myself having BPD about 5 months ago, I have taken tests, talked to counselors. My counselor agrees that it is extremely likely, the online tests have all been full marks (severe likeliness). I truly do believe I have it, and really want the chance of an official diagnosis, but my counselor simply will not refer me to a psychiatrist or therapist who can confirm or deny. And it's been getting on my nerves. None of my life is making sense to me and I'm not sure why my counselor won't help me get some clarification.
Is this common with counselors? Should I seek a proper therapist myself? Help |

Hello Elii, I am glad you got to rant and I am sorry you are having a hard time understanding your life, it can be stressful to see the dots connecting and getting wrapped up in all of the tests and such. I am no medical professional so I haven't any idea why your counselors wouldn't or possibly couldn't recommend you to a psychiatrist, are they your only link to getting in touch with a professional?
