Lately I’ve only been able to talk to my mom. Although lately I’ve been texting her about more in depth stuff. Therapy sessions have gotten very hard for me because I just can’t communicate very well with her anymore. I used to be able to talk great with her. Now most of the time I’ll end up saying “I don’t know, or “I guess.” Then later in email I’ll tell her what I was really feeling and thinking. I’ve also been completely ignoring other family members when they come over.
But I can text and email very well. I know what I’m feeling and thinking and most of the time I know why. It just seems like I’m losing the ability to speak. It almost feels like it’s a physical issue. And it’s a bit terrifying to me. Could this be some type of neurological thing or maybe a conversion disorder type thing? I don’t know what to do. __________________ Ridin' with Biden |

Dear Don,
I wish I had some insight into why you seem to be losing the ability to speak. That sounds scary. Sincerely yours, Yao Wen |

Maybe its a guy thing. I think, if men run the space, like a work meeting, they dont let women talk. But if its a womens space, the women dont let men talk.

I think you are outgrowing a few things, thus you lost interest.

That seems like the most logical answer after my research. It’s been suggested too before. Not sure why it’s getting so much worse. I do wonder if my therapist will bring it up more at our next session after that last disaster one where I only said “I don’t know” for the last 10 minutes.

Porbably because of the medication your on. Maybe read a small book with very few pages everyday or go on google and read something useful . You need to relax and just buy a diary and write in it everyday how your feeling whats your faovurite thing to do /favourite food. And when you get the hang of it you can ring people and keep on talking even if its just a hello how are you been feeling. basic words work the best.

I lost ability to talk at a young age due to traumatic experience. I wasn't totally unable to talk. I just got a real bad stammer. Yet to this day I still use text and email a lot. I can send things in email I could never articulate in real time conversation. I like idea of writing in diary and suggest you continue to communicate in anyway you can. It is a blessing to be able to connect with the outside world and caring souls any which way you can.
