Thank you for that, Raindropvampire. I made the list from some of my favourites shared with my daughter. She plays piano and synth while I play vioila. It's a great combo!

I played viola (actually started on cello then fell in love with the viola) all through middle school and high school. I can still play but not like I used to.

My love for classical music is something I passed down to my brother. It's funny if you look at his play lists because, like me, he loves a bit of everything so he runs the gamut from death metal to classical. Only thing he is averse to is country music. My aversion is jazz just never could get into it.

I like a little jazz, but too much exposure to it makes me melancholy, pining the return to classical; I understand how you feel.

Since becoming sick with a couple of nasty infections and being on sickleave, I miss practicing my viola and Peggy her piano. Pianos are far too big for travel, but she took her acoustic guitar as did I with mine. I cannot live in a world without music.

One evening though when returning from work, I was astonished seeing Peggy 'shredding' on her electric guitar! I thought I knew most things about Peg, but her fretboard fingerwork as incredible! How guickjly she had learnt even the most complex of chords. So our music strays from classical to rock and metal. It's such fun trying to outdo each other! And then the phone buzzes and someone bellows "OI YOU TWO - --!!"

Thank you for posting on my topic.

Thanks for the list. I'll have to go through it sometime.

Like many others, I listen to a little bit of most things. Jazz is odd for me in that it makes everything *else* sound better when mixed in, but straight-up jazz I find mostly ... meh.

It's clever and interesting ... and just doesn't seem to do anything for me on an emotional level. Oh well.
