Default The Magic of Books

Lately while unwell I've been reading a series of magical novels by Sarah Addison Allen. They have been such a thrill to read that I visted the author's website. There, listed under 'Just So You Know' was an account by Sarah Addison Allen. It's a must read. It's about books.

Sarah Addison Allen - New York Times Bestselling Author

I loved Sarah Addison Allen's books so much that I gave them to Peggy to read, and the quote from the above link just seemed so wonderfully fitting.

Accredited to Sarah Addison Allen: 'This essay first appeared as a Valentine's Day 2010 "More in Store" feature for Barnes & Noble's Nook.'

Are you in love with books? They take me on a journey which, unlike visiting a country, I often return to, time and time again.

I am in love with books too. Books are my savior. When I was getting abused, I would escape into books. I used to actually get yelled at for reading too much, and not studying math lol.

I am also an avid reader with a love for books. My favorite being horror or thriller type stories. I discovered a sub Reddit on accident and it's the best accident of my life!! The stories on there are relatively short all things considered. There is a max word count I think. But some of the writers are incredibly talented!!! I go on almost daily to check for updates on stories in progress and new stories come out by the dozens. Much entertainment!!

Thank you so much everyone.

After you finish a book, the story still goes on in your mind. You can never change the beginning. But you can always change the end. I liken this to my life, for what is happening now are new pages being written as a gentle gentleman came into my life to make things better for my daughter and I. Happy things. There is new hope in our lives. And a whole lot of love.

I was always a reader of both fiction and non-fiction. I read voraciously as a child. There was less reading for pleasure as I got older and other priorities and required reading took it's place.

The odd thing is I don't remember leaning to read. My earliest memories go back to about 4 years of age. I could already read by then. Not being literate seems a little alien to me, in that I've never had the (remembered) experience of not being able to read any language at all. It's just always been there for me. I went to the libraries, so I could learn and do on my own. It was comforting in that respect, because too often I did not find people very comforting.

Yes I absolutely love books! I have hundreds on my to-read list. I'm finally starting to be able to concentrate enough to read again and I'm loving it The Magic of Books

I have loved books for so long, but I haven't been able to sit down and read any lately. I have "Good Omens" on my nightstand and I plan on re-reading it soon. I really loved that book! (Hopefully the Amazon Series does it justice).

Yes I am totally a book worm. I am totally in love with written word. I havent heard of Sarah Addison Allen and I generally dislike magical realism but I really like that short essay about falling in love with books

I grew up with books since infancy. Today as an adult I have books laying about on nearly every flat surface in my home. I read a lot of non-fiction actually. When it comes to fiction though my preferred genre is the 'police procedural' mystery novel. I have a number of series I am always working on but it is the Peter Robinson (detective chief inspector Banks) books that I have read every single book. As for non-fiction I read history books but also books about the history of religion and spirituality. I am reading yet another book on Medicine Wheels and Indigenous Spirituality right now in addition to a book on yoga for CBT.
