Did you find anything intersting?
I googled myself a few weeks ago and I found the usual death notices from relatives. But then I found a werid website of these people in costumes. I got of there ASAP. I don’t know what that site was. I don’t want to know what it was. __________________ Ridin' with Biden |

I have an unusual last name so not much except my FB and my old myspace comes up when I google myself.

I am basically dead if the Internet gets to decide. You can't find me anywhere under my name. As it should be.

Yes, I google myself frequently; it's a security thing as there are only 2 pics of me online: one official that is job0-related, and the other my daughter took. I like things kept this way because I've had a stalker. Having a stalker is terrifying.

I've googled myself, and never been able to find myself on line. Apparently there was some woman with the same name as me who was big time involved in forming the Mormons, and dozens of references to her come up. I'm kind of happy that I'm not easily findable.

Googling yourself is actually recommended as a way to watch for identity theft. It's good thing if you aren't finding anything.
Like Raindropvampire I have an unusual last name. I find stuff, but it's the same stuff every time. I also find lots of links to my husband's death because it was kind of a big deal locally. |

It's a bit scary because I seem to be the only person online with my name. So when I google myself, it's all about me: pictures, articles, things like that. The first thing that comes up though is my LinkedIn profile, so that's good.

It’s been a while so I tried again....apparently there’s an author with my name as well as an art faculty and at least my linked in made the first page.

I am variously an oceanographer in California, a violin teacher in another country and there are several of me in both Scotland and Ireland. There's the real me too because of the social media I use for work. I am a bit envious of the Oceanographer 'me'.
There was also a picture of me on Street View. It was quite funny I was on some steps on a rainy day and I was carrying a big leather bag in one hand and my open umbrella. I like vintage clothing and was wearing a high waisted ankle length skirt and a high neck blouse. The photo caught me when I was mid step and both my feet were off the ground. Somehow the perspective made it look like I was flying Mary Poppins style. My face was blurred but to anyone who knows me I was very recognisable. __________________ |

I did. Nothing interesting came up but my LinkedIn account, clock repair work, and one comment that I posted on a language website. I looked myself up when I was applying for work to make sure there was nothing questionable.

yes.
and amusingly, came across a review I wrote on a site as a kid (which I hoped to forget) apart from the fact that spelling in it looked like someone was just bashing the keys at random, I used the word like, so many times like, omg |

I googled myself and found a picture of Blake Lively. We were meant to be. But alas, not.

Yes, but I only find European people with the same name as me, and far more interesting lives, I'm sure. And as jimi said, that's as it should be. I'm comfortable with lots of privacy.

There is several with my name on white pages and a flower with our names but no one has much of a presence. No pictures of any of us. If I had FB I might see that someone had FB page but not me.

Unfortunately yes. There was a profile name I used everywhere back in the early days of the internet and a Google of that name brings up a rather embarrassing history. Egads! I am not proud of some of my actions many which have accompanying pictures of those days of old. Thank God I kept my profile to myself and unless people have inadvertently stumbled across them by accident I should be safe from embarrassment. It all could be worse. Thank goodness I have never engaged in or posted inappropriate activities. And, much of what comes up dates back to the early 90s. More recently when I Google the profile name I use here it links directly to my psychcentral activity. Ugh. Again, at least this is not a profile I have let people in my life know I use.
