I've already seen the Cadbury's Caramel Rabbit chomping away on TV ads like there's no tomorrow on 'anything chocolate'. Easter eggs, chocolate bunnies ( it's imperitive you bite their ears off first)

Typical of Easter every year, however, for Christians it is "the most important oldest festival of the Christian Church, celebrating the resurrection of Christ and held (in the Western Church) between 21 March and 25 April, on the first Sunday after the first full moon following the northern spring equinox" - Reference: Google.

Don't get me wrong though, I do love my chocolate and am likely to gain 10 pounds from scoffing quite a lot of it over Easter.

It definitely does not include 'cream eggs' (I shudder just thinking about them, haha).

But seriously, I just had my Eostre on the Spring Equinox which is from which most of today's Easter customs stem from. Eggs immediately come to mind. The Christians celebrate the 'return of the SON' while much of the rest of the world has some celebration or another regarding the 'return of the SUN'. There is no coincidence in this. Most people I know celebrate the first which is no skin off my back as the way I see it it comes down to the birth of spring for all of us regardless of belief system. I have no problem sharing my own celebration including a festive meal with my family and friends and I doubt they have a problem when I share their's with them.

I have a mixed celebration since I actually follow the Messianic calendar which actually ties the celebration of easter (resurrection of Christ) with Passover, Unleavened Bread & the Feast of First fruits rather than the western calendar timing.

But I have already started gnashing on the chocolate candies.

Lol....easter egg hunts are fun.....just have free range chickens & one gets to enjoy egg hunts every day

Hope to go to church sometime over Easter, depending on how well my daughter is after her heart operation.

My mom always made almond cookies for Easter. I've no idea where that tradition came from. I may try making some for myself this year.

I’ll probably go over to my aunts house for a 4PM dinner. I’ve been going there for the past few Easter’s. I’m hoping there’s still a few Reese’s eggs and Lindt chocolate bunnies left at the store on Easter Monday when the candy is half off.

Cadbury's Creme Eggs are an abomination of Easter

I just looked online and chocolate Cadbury Creme Eggs haven’t been in the U.S since 2015. Shows how much I pay attention. I know the US also had a butterfingers version at one point and I think an Oreos version. Once they changed the recipe and cut the size of them in half they didn’t appeal to me as much. I might buy a couple of them this year though.

Go to church (probably falling asleep), then go picnic in the woods with our kids, Easter egg hunt even though they're too old for it. I'll probably will take my guitar for some singsongs.
