I hate the sound of people smacking their lips/dogs licking their lips.
I hate the sound of people chewing on food/gum. I hate the sound of whistling. I hate the sound of TV static. What's your most annoying sound? Last edited by LiteraryLark; Mar 24, 2019 at 09:21 PM.. |

Don’t ask, there’s so many. People snapping gum, people whispering, the car next to with the radio up way too loud, typing that sounds like a machine gun, furniture being rearranged, someone clanking their spoon on a bowl, the rustle of a bag of chips.

crying baby
if parents attend to their kid when they start crying, then I don't mind it. what gets me is when the baby keeps crying and the parents ignore it crying baby eventually gives me a really bad headache and I just want to snap. my other one is nails scraping against a chalkboard or baloons deflating oh, and building sounds |

The sound of coyotes and coyote kits at night.
I moved into a housing development opposite empty field and ranchland. It was early summer and thus I slept with the windows open. Every night I was kept awake by the sound of a 'baby' crying for hours on end. For gosh darn sake, I thought attend your child! After 6wks of this I was determined to do something about it and called children's services but of course without being able to pin point the exact house out there was nothing to be done. This continued for weeks more. The alternative was to close the windows and lie asleep in the heat. Finally, when at a block party and meeting all my neighbours, I commented on the neglected infant. Everyone roared with laughter. It turned out to be the coyotes and not a baby crying at all. I felt like such an idiot but it didn't solve the problem and I continued to get no sleep until summer had passed. |

A leaf blower...absolute worst.
A diesel engine truck that's been left idling for a long period of time. We get that a lot around here in the summer. Someone parks nearby and just leaves the truck running, on and on and on. Ah! |

The sound my brother makes when he’s doing his OCD. He is so loud I have to turn my TV up to 53 and I can still hear him. The dumb thing is he only does it in front of me and stops when my mom comes down. It makes me so, so angry.

A whining child relentlessly going on and on. Or screaming, or tantruming. Or both. I pity mothers who have kids like these. I bet they would dearly love to give them a good smacking, but you can't be seen doing that.
