I'm wondering how many people out there listen to podcasts and which ones are your favorite, if you're willing to share.

Besides the topics themselves, what do you feel makes for an effective podcast that you are willing to keep listening to? What is it about a podcast that may make you want to stop listening immediately?

I'm trying to learn more about podcasts. I'm woefully ignorant about them. Someone suggested I consider participating in one, but I sure have to learn a heck of a lot more about them beforehand. As a teen, I was invited to a live radio show to answer interview questions. That was about 30 years ago.

I found a podcast advertised on PC. I listened to it. I won't say, either way, what I thought about it.

I listen to a lot of philosophy podcasts. Some I like and some I dislike. The ones I like are better. For example, one I like is called The Partially Examined Life.

I think a podcast is engaging when it's a. about a topic you are interested in and b. is presented in an interesting fashion. Obviously there's more to it than that but you get my drift.

Point b has a little more substance to it because there are many interesting ways to present certain topics. And if it's presented in a cool way, then perhaps you will be more encouraged to learn more about the topic.
