Default Pleasures (small or big) you experienced today

Today I finally got myself out of the house. I said "Self, get out and make yourself experience some pleasures!" Of course one need not leave the comfort of one's home, or any current spot, to have a pleasurable experience. Pleasures also need not be big. Little ones count a lot, too. Sometimes there are numerous little pleasures right in front of or near you, but you don't see/hear/feel or allow yourself to experience them. They do, indeed, have to be sought, sometimes. I've called that my "pursuit of pleasure". Such a pursuit is basically practicing mindfulness. Ever heard of mindfulness?

I'm wondering if you'd be interested in posting an image (or more), link(s) to song(s)/sound(s), or written descriptions of things that gave you some pleasure today. Again, it can be a simple pleasure. Sharing them is particularly nice since we can sometimes enjoy them vicariously. Interested in sharing any you had today? I'll start.

-------------------

Early spring! There are so many lovely things to see, and I'm lucky that there are many quite near to me. I went to a nearby downtown area I like and treated myself to a lunch. Then I drove not far from there (with a cup of nice coffee in tow) and took a walk. Some trees are blossoming. Birds were excitedly singing. Beautiful views that are always there were waiting for me to enjoy again. I guess normally I'd post just one photo (or other thing), but I'll start out with a small album of 9 lovely sights/sites I saw today. I'll also mention that along the way I enjoyed singing birds, the sound of water falling, and pleasant greetings from strangers. The temperature was just perfect at 55 degrees F, wearing my favorite jacket. You can see them all at My pleasures today - April 11, 2019 - Album on Imgur Scroll down the album to see all 9.

Looking out the back door, I see some dandelions and California poppies growing and flowering together. The dandelions are bright gold, the poppies brilliant yellow-orange. And even though they are both strictly speaking weeds, they make the most beautiful color combination.

I can understand the relief, raging vortex! I've been happy to see mean people leave, too. The fruit sounds yummy!

Mopey, thanks for reminding us that even "weeds" can be beautiful. That's a meaningful observation.

I found out I can still go to the dentist on medicaid. I know it's weird, but I look forward to my cleanings.

I put on some music first thing this morning, nice to hum along while cleaning the litter pans and folding laundry. Often when I'm very depressed I just can't cope with music, it's a pleasure to be able to enjoy it again.
