So far this is the only one ive posted in. What other "help" sites or forums do you all partake in?

At this time, PC is my favorite in terms of my comfort with the community and it's popularity. Other website forums I have visited may have been busy and helpful in the past, but are ghost towns now. A couple I left because of discomfort with a member (or more than one) that visited there. Occasionally I go back to them to see what's happening, but see they are becoming less and less popular.
One site I will mention is Reddit. It has a different feel and somewhat different "culture" than a typical mental health support forum, but that can be good sometimes. I am not familiar with all of their mental health related sub reddits. Only their r/BipolarReddit (which is best for bipolar support) or r/Bipolar (which is less support and more memes, jokes, and photos). On Reddit, there are some communities you can't find anywhere else. For example, r/MaladaptiveDreaming |

If you're not familiar, when someone gives you the name of a "subreddit" (reddit sub forum) - you can access it like this: reddit.com/r/SUBFORUM-NAME If you don't like the formatting, you can also use the older formatting (I do this a bunch) where you see more threads listed at once, but less info about each thread on the first page, by prefacing the website address with "old", like this: old.reddit.com/r/SUBFORUM-NAME People usually refer to the reddits as just /r/SUBFORUM-NAME. So, there's one for talking about therapy, "r/talktherapy". You can get to it like this: reddit.com/r/talktherapy OR old.reddit.com/r/talktherapy Links (hope these work!) Patient perspectives on psychotherapy. Patient perspectives on psychotherapy. Some others are: ... r/CPTSD/ - for C-PTSD (complex PTSD) ... r/talktherapy - to talk about therapy ... r/psychotherapy - this is for Ts to talk about their stuff, so you shouldn't post if you're not a T. But it can be fascinating to read, if you're curious about that sort of thing (I am!) ... r/depression - Depression ... r/raisedbynarcissists/ - For people with narcissistic parents. ... r/SuicideWatch/ - Support for people feeling suicidal There are bunches more, these are the ones that I've looked at. I usually use the "old" style, and often they'll show related subreddits in the sidebar on the right (but not always). For example, /r/SuicideWatch lists r/stopselfharm/ as related on the side. That can be a useful way to find other groups. Sorry if I'm overexplaining. I just... really love reddit. It's endless, and as BirdDancer said, you can find subreddits for all sorts of odd and interesting things. Enjoy! |

PC is my favorite, but I am ready to branch out to others.
I use Facebook a lot and Pinterest. I post from my blog to Mix, Twitter and Wordpress. My inspirebullystop blog is almost where I want it to be and I can devote time to participate more in Reddit, Instagram and Nami, and develop articles to post and share. __________________ "Love you. Reddit mostly. I read r/psychotherapy, participate a little on r/talktherapy, and participate the most on r/ADHD

I would not be a big Tech type these days. I have had my account here for a few years now and apart from the now defunct Google+, that's about it. I did have a facebook page but don't bother with it anymore. I am aware of a place called 'MeWe' but again I don't think I can put in the effort.
Sure I have been encouraged by the folks in the care in the community team to branch out more in the word from by cave and meet new people but for the life of me, I am happy to be a solitary type. I have my art I have my books and I have my motorcycle. That's more than many people in the word have and I am grateful for that. __________________ A daily dose of positive in a world going cuckoo Humour helps... |

I met a dear, dear friend on NoLongerLonely, a site for mental illness challenged folks for just making friends and dating. $40 lifetime membership. It really needs to grow, so please consider it. I find it much easier to make friends on NLL than on PC. People on PC seem so busy because PC is so large. I have made 2 solid platonic friendships on NLL with men, a big part of the online family of people who “get it”whereas my real life family really don’t understand emotional illness and frankly have little desire to learn. I dont know if my experience is a common one, but the people I have met on NLL so far dont work which allows them more time for friendships, but they have the pressures of a limited income.

PC is the only forum I belong to anymore. I belonged to DocJohn's original site w-a-y back when. Then belonged to a few others. A couple no longer exit. One turned into a snakepit of wickedness. I beat feet from there when I realized how toxic it was becoming. I also belonged to a couple of forums for folks with specific issues I dealt with in the past. I stopped frequently them when I no longer needed help with those problems.
I like PC. The mods/admins do a great job of wild keeping the place safe. The few other places I've visited recently were like the Wild west with people trashing one another. Don't need that kind of stress in my life. |

PC is the only 'help' forum that I belong to. There were a couple of others before PC. I haven't been active on NT in ages, but to me, that's a different kind of help forum than asked. I'd say that I only belong to one other online community. FB and IG are primarily family and friends and I set my timer on those.
