I agree about the rebuilding. It will be part of its story. Gutwrenching to watch.

What a horrific tragedy. I hope it was just an accident and wasn’t intentional. I am incredibly sad at the lost, priceless artwork.

While yes, the yellow vest movement started out peacefully about tax and employment reform, it quickly degenerated into the anti-immigrant anti-Muslim disgusting belief system. This has in turn been taken up by the far ultra right wing elements of society around the Western world and, yes, is connected to vile racism, homophobia, and religiously intolerant members of society in places like even Canada. A simple Google of the 'yellow vest movement' should suffice. |

They said it was a short circuit. Imagine being the dude who may have contributed to that...

I now believe this. If it was terrorism of any kind, they would be declaring responsibility for it. Someone left something plugged in or some other such fault. A shame.

I want to address the big money that has been raised in such a short time - especially by the incredibly wealthy the world over. While yes this landmark is important, I can think of so much more good that can come from that kind of money. I might me alone but I think that is a real shame.

I was so sad when I heard the news I've been there years ago and loved it. Luckily many parts are safe...it seemed worse at the beginning. So it can be rebuilt. I was glad to discover it, though what happened is still sad.
