**This is for ANYONE that loves makeup**
I am not the kind of person that believes I need makeup. I can leave the house without it on and feel ok but I LOOOVVVEE it and I always have. I am a colorful lively type of person and I use a lot of bold colors and dramatic eyes. I try to rock neutrals sometimes. Sephora and Ulta is like an amusement park for me. I can't afford to go all the time and I am very selective but it doesn't have to be expensive for me to love it. Right now my favorite lip colors are wet-n-wild liquid catsuit matte long wearing lipstick. This stuff really competes with the pricey brands and its like 4$. Excellent staying power and transfer resistance and lots of bold colors. I love lip glosses but I have yet to find one that doesn't immediately get absorbed into my lips or comes off me. (open to recommendations on this) My current favorite since the fall is Kat Von D's everlasting glimmer veil liptick. I bought one because my favorite color is purple and this one is great. This one stays on really well and for a long time. Its the best purple I've found. I think they are discontinuing it so it was marked down in sephora and when I went back it was gone. I found it through their website but I dont know how long it will be around. I am still searching for the perfect foundation. I have oily t zone and huge pores. I am currently using a lancome one but I am not thrilled. I tried clinique, fenty(fendi?), este lauder, drug store brands- havent found one that works. Please share your love of makeup and color. __________________ "I carried a watermelon?" President of the no F's given society. |

I think it's either Sephora or Ulta that will do a free foundation match? Or maybe both? I don't use more than Laura Merciers Translucent setting powder at the moment. Liquids make me break out and I tend to maintain a healthy color that washes out under full face coverage. But neither here nor there. Eye shadow I float between a shaded primer-ulta or Mac Paint Pots. Or I've stumbled upon Sydney Grace individual shadows that don't crease, don't melt and I haven't found others that come close. I don't smokey eye where I work within a school district and conservative approach is more comfortable for me. I need waterproof eyeliners and mascaras. I've found a favorite in tartes maneater but have an abundance of others unopened to work through unless they offer that again on black friday at sale prices. I do have an unopened sample of it if in a couple months I cannot resist the urge to open that over others.
One thing that I have that is super pricey full price but I dab some on my cheeks and temples is Oribe Glow Drops. It's a face oil but when you aren't getting the 8 hours a night like me...it helps. My main focus aside from a rather ritualistic skin care routine is my under eyes. I have genetic 'allergy shiners'-made worse as the week go on with less sleep. So eye serums and brightening caffeinated eye creams and two shades of concealer and that powder dabbed on top and an eye brightener. And that lighter shade of eye shadow on the lids goes a long way for me. |

A friend of mine started selling Youniqe make up. I started with a lip gloss.... stays for hours I was in shock.
Next I got mascara ... I about fell over seeing that I had lashes again. Then foundation , I am so hard to find something that doesn’t look cakey and not turn a yellow shade after a few hours. I finally after decades found something that truly is the right shade and best of all it just covers what I need covered and leaves my face look fresh. Then I bought a eye shadow palette, the colors are so pigmented I’ll never run out My skin just looks healthier since wear this brand. Yes it’s more expensive than drug store but it takes such little amounts of product it lasts forever. I’m a fan. __________________ Helping others gets me out of my own head ~ |

I am struggling with dark circles as well. Can you recommend something for that? And any good tutorials about covering them that you can recommend off youtube? I use tarte's concealer I forget what its called but its one of their top sellers. I cant seem to find the right balance of coverage without having the concealer settle in and make the circles look worse. Sometimes I get lucky and get it right but not always. I do know both of those stores do foundation matching but my issue is the lighting in the ones by me is not great and I have had one matched and gotten home to find it was too dark so I am not sure what to do about it. I am in love with too-faced 'better than sex' mascara and I just bought one a month ago and cant find it so I am really upset about that.
Did you happen to go into Ulta for their beauty days sale? I only made it in for one day but scored a Stila all day liquid liner for half off. Quote:

I can find the mascara you mentioned on the ulta website, hope it reappears for you. I did shop ulta online 3 of the 21 days. I was able to get my eye cream for half off, so now I have a back up stored. Found a hair/scalp serum that has worked like magic and a couple other things. I didn't need a lot as I had resupplied on Black Friday. I did shop in store on the last day of the sale in Maine and picked up those Captain Marvel train cases and makeup bags much to the cheers of my sons. Was b2g2. Ulta isn't far away but it's not conveniently close either. |

Before I head off and forget. I've seen various youtubers talk about mixing foundation shades before application. Maybe try that with what you have? Or try adding a cream into the shade? Not sure since I don't work with foundations very much.

I am in ULTA so much they all know me by name. Not very fond of Sephora except that they do offer free perfume samples which I like since I am very very huge on fragrance plus ULTAs rewards for me is much more beneficial
As for makeup I could most likely open my own store! I adore glitter and have it in almost everything except for foundation and mascara. I used IT for foundation for awhile and Bare Minerals before that but currently am really enjoying the Benefit line of coverage. Mascaras are very hard for me to find that work like I want as I am EXTREMELY picky with them. I just ordered one by Pacifica that sounds promising since they long ago discontinued my favorite ever which was Loreal Featherlash with the teddy bear brush. I was so sad! I enjoy bright colors for my eyes but since I am very fair skinned I have to use them sparingly and will mix them a lot with my pastels. Urban Decay is a big fave and I recently discovered a line called Concrete Minerals which Im guessing is a take on UD but its what they call "vegan" so its supposed to be safer to use. They have some wild colors! Like an indie company I experiment with lip colors and I cant go very bright but I do like to put the toppers on to give it a prismatic look. Now I want to go ULTAing! And I have a 20% off coupon to use too lol |

I like makeup and I LOVE nails and colorful hair. The manicures these girls are getting today are astounding. HOWEVER.....................
Not only am I no longer young, but my hands are not pretty enough to call attention to them in that way, and the life I lead and the job I have are not conducive to having them anyway. On the subject of makeup, it was forbidden in my house until we were 18, and even THEN, you were disparaged for putting it on. ("In MY day, only hookers and actresses wore makeup") Naturally, I did the whole sneak it on at school and stuff, but a few times I forgot to take it off and had to then sneak into my house. Then occasionally it would not wash off all the way, etc. So, because of that...it became more of a worry than a joy. Even though as an independent adult I could walk around with orange foundation and purple stripes if I chose, the idea that it is more trouble than it is worth is all that is left of it. I was the one who went out with my more attractive friends and helped then look good. I like makeup ads in magazines simply for the artistic way they are presented. TBH, I don't even have a tube of mascara anymore. Do you like the off-color lipsticks? I think they are neat. __________________ I go about my own business, and keep my mind on myself and my life. I went through my Ziggy Stardust phase a few years ago but I don't remember much about it. I think Avon was my go-to.

Sarah, Revlon just released a new line of Super Lustrous Matte lipsticks, and one is purple. It's called Purple Aura.
I am currently using a lot of the shade from the original Tarte Tarlette and the Tarte Toasted palettes, as well as Huda Beauty Warm Brown palette. I'm using an eyeliner by Lancome: Le Stylo in Chocolat, and Milk Kush mascara and Hourglass Panoramic mascara. I alternate between the two. For blush I use either Bourjois Rose Ambre or Golden Chestnut. Right now I'm using up my Buxom lipstick in Ruby Mistress. I am trying to use up 5 lipsticks before I buy more. I have a lot of makeup! Lol. |

@sarahsweets
There's a 50% off sale on Ulta, today only. So far I see Benefits Cosmetic Foundations in this sale. In case that's something you're still looking into. |

Well, I just got back. Got my replacement 'better than sex' mascara by too-faced. Got my Morphe blending buffer brush and bought my daughter something. They took my coupon for my points but wouldn't take the internet one saying the stuff I had didn't qualify which is annoying/

I love makeup and spend way too much time watching you tube videos of tutorials. I think I'm addicted to it. It's fun!

Love, love makeup! Especially dark, deep reds. My good friend got a nice deep red from MAC and I love it. Great thread!
Oh, for foundation, Clinique is the BEST to keep your skin healthy. __________________ Tales of Love, Motivation, and An Interesting Journey - Please Subscribe to my Website on WordPress: Inspired Odyssey's Path to Wellness and Love |

Recently, I went to Sephora for a mini makeover, and I got an eye makeup application. She used Charlotte Tilbury palette in Vintage Vamp, a very pretty quad of pinks. I just bought it and I'm really liking it.

I finally used up my Buxom lipstick. I started using my Clinique Icon Pop lipstick and I think the formula is very nice. I'm also liking BareMinerals Mantra lipstick.

I second this statement; Better Than Sex is by far the best mascara that has ever graced my eyelashes. As for foundation I am LOVING C.Y.O at the moment only downside only at Walgreen's. so no points for me, on the plus side it looks seriously amazing. I also LOVE Too Faced Born This Way; and Makeup Forever Ultra HD.
I also have a brand habit for Too Faced; those Melted Matte's are my favorite. I honestly can't remember the last time I came across anything I actually hated from Too Faced; I also really adore Tarte. Granted I stick to the more natural/nude colors. __________________ Generalized Anxiety Disorder Depression Symptoms of PTSD Trintellix 10mg once daily Buspar 10mg three times daily |
