I have noticed that several people on PC maintain personal blogs. Those who do, are you willing to answer any of the following questions?

1. How many blog posts have you published over what period of time?

2. Do you have particularly active blogging periods, as well as much slower ones?

3. What do you mostly blog about? Your mental illness, totally other things, or some of both? What purpose does your blog serve for you?

1. I have about 450 posts over the last 7 years.

2. I post more often when in an episode than when not.

3. My blog is supposed to serve as an insight into what bipolar feels like. That means all the time- including the times my posts don't make sense really because I'm deep into mania or depression.

Thanks so much for sharing, Moose72! It's amazing how much many of us write over the years.

My answers:

1. I've posted 288 blog posts in my Wordpress blog over a 2 plus year period. I've also posted around 200 in a blog in a mental health-related website (not this one).

2. In 2017, I posted in my blog almost daily, but it started to slow down in 2018 and even more year to date 2019. I guess the slow down was partly mood related (fewer upswings), but my interest focus changed, too. I have a tendency to really get into something passionately, then eventually the passion fades. Also, I grew more private. Too many people in my life were reading my Wordpress blog.

3. I started my blog with the specific intension to write about many passions. Though many are mental health related, they are mostly articles, prose poetry, stories of the past with extra elements, or reflections. Not really journal entries. I have also written about nature, cooking, the arts, humor, social concerns, travel, and other topics. Because there isn't a single focus, my blog has a variety of readers. I suppose a more singular focus may yield a more regular following, but I don't care. My point was to widen my own focus so as to not only think of bipolar disorder.

I saw some of your flower photos in the "Pleasures big and small" thread. Stunning!

I love to write and I write best about what I know intimately. I now have three blogs and have written over 2651 posts since I began my first blog on 10-17-2012.

I post daily about what I am grateful for and something funny to show that recovery is not all serious business.

I write brief articles about my experiences in abuse, alcoholism, going from self-destruction to self-esteem and lots more topics.

Links to my blogs are below in my signature. I love visitors and feedback!

91 posts over the past 4 years, but about 95% of them were made this year.

My blogging rate varies, sometimes I go through periods where I make a lot of posts and am very inspired then there are times when I don't post often.

I write about many different things, mental illness, art, cooking, videogames, books, and whatever else I feel like.
