An interest of mine is weather. It's intriguing to me, how weather is in various places around the globe and how the seasons change from location to location. Share with us what your weather is like these days!
If you'd like to post about an experience you've had in the past with regard to weather, that would be fun, too. <------ I wish! In the Big Valley the temperatures this week will be above 100 degrees every day. It looks like we'll drop to 89 on Saturday . Our heat is dry, and nights do cool down some. But it is HOT. __________________ |

It is warm here, supposed to be in the high 90's, possibly 100 degrees F. The next two days are supposed to be hot and then we cool down to the mid 90's by the weekend.

We are for sure getting baked in California, aren't we?!
108 today, 107 tomorrow. This stifling heat is...I dunno. Seems like it causes me to feel depressed. __________________ |

as for an experience, we once had such severe wind and rain our power was knocked out for what turned out to be 3 days and nights. it wasn't just us either, it was our entire street.
trying to entertain myself and make sure I have food in a power outage.. it isn't an easy thing to do. I also remember the first time I saw lightning. it terrified me, I was watching tv at the time and it just shot across the screen I now love storms though. not afraid of them at all |

I remember my first Spring in Michigan. I had been told there would be storms that afternoon but I wasn't prepared. I came out of an exam and walked out of the downtown building and I thought it was nighttime. It was that dark. And it had this greenish tint to the world. I just knew this was different. I raced home and when I got home hail came down, BIG hail. Then the twister warning went off, I didn't even know what it was. Suddenly the wind come up so hard and the tv said there was a twister where I was but I still didn't really believe it. It felt surreal... thankfully it must have just skirted me because it was gone in an instant.. really made me have respect for how little we are in the great picture.

Where I live in Ky, our farms constantly have trees blown apart by lightning. The other day I had errands to run when a huge storm came up. I waited to go into the store & came out after it moved on to over my farm. Driving home down my road, 2 huge trees had been blown apart & across the road by lightning just a few hundred feet from my own farm. In a tornado area but live so far out that the sirens can't be heard unless outside & who in the world is outside in storms like that just to hear if the sirens are going off __________________ Leo's favorite place was in the passenger seat of my truck. Such interesting weather stories!
I guess when I ask myself what my most memorable weather memory is, I recall being in a toasty, cozy pub in the Temple Bar section of Dublin (Ireland). I was traveling with my son; he wanted to stay in the pub and socialize, but I was ready to head back to the hostel where we were staying. It was February, and darkness fell by 4 p.m. I stepped out of the warm pub into a chilly night. Not cold, but refreshingly chilly. I was walking along a cobblestone street when drizzle began falling. Not rain, not fog, but a feather-light mist. I stopped walking and felt the unevenness of the old cobblestones under my boots. I stretched up and felt the mist fall onto my hands. I took deep breaths, and the feeling of the clean, damp air was wonderful! I remember saying to myself Here I am in Dublin, in a land of poets and dreamers...I am here! What a moment of pure joy that was. __________________ |

10 p.m. and it's still in the mid-80's but the temperature is supposed to be decently less hot tomorrow. x fingers crossed x I like the summer days that are decent summer temperatures, but do the beautiful California thing (in most locations, anyway) of getting breezy and pleasant by early evening. __________________ |
