Or do they scare you? I don’t particularly mind clowns. I know a guy dressed as Ronald McDonald scared me when I was real little though. I guess I just haven’t encountered too many in my life.

Clowns don't scare me although I also haven't encountered many in my life. I believe somewhere in the area where I live there is a clown club... where members dress up as clowns & visit kids in hospitals & such. I've mused a few times about possibly looking into it to see if in fact there actually is such a thing & if it would be something I could do. But I haven't done it. Somehow the fantasy of these sorts of things is a lot more attractive than the reality. (Too bad we don't have a clown smilie…)

I don't care for them but they don't scare me either. Nothing scares me except BIG spiders.
I just don't care for things made up to look unnatural. Never have, never will. Interesting because I was friends with a guy in college who's dad was an artist & painted clowns. Never got one of his paintings though they were quite good for clown faces. __________________ Leo's favorite place was in the passenger seat of my truck. We went everywhere together like this. I like clowns such as Ronald McDonald, but some of them look scary to me.

I suppose it depends on the clown. Clowns certainly suffer from a horrible rap these days. Especially since Gacy dressed up as one. The Steven King novel It , the sequel give Clowns a bad name too. Fellini made a film about Clowns emphasizing their humor and charm several decades ago. My how times changed.

I have a family story about Gacy. Back in the 70’s my uncle was hitchhiking in Chicago and that was before people knew how dangerous hitchhiking was. He got in the car with a man and the man said

Not fussy on the orange-y political ones...but I can tolerate the creepy, old-school, painted face, circus variety.

the scary people with the weird outfits and the scary voices?
don't like them if that's their voice in real life, (which I hope it really isn't), then I am terrified |

I am ambivalent towards them. However, a best friend is terrified. For some strange reason, when I worked at IKEA, people would come to the store in costume. Yeah, makes no sense. Often, it was a clown costume. Why? I dunno. But those at the front department would give us in the last a warning call in order to have time to get this friend off the floor so as to save him from a meltdown. Balloons were also a problem. Obviously something has happened in his past.

I'd sooner see a pantomime horse along the pavement than meet a clown. Clowns give me the shudders.

I think clowns are cool. Always trying to impress you and make you laugh. Making weird noises and running amok, heh.

I don't find clowns scary. Not even either of the IT clowns scary, though I do see the scare factor in the IT clowns. The scariest clown I've ever seen was the American Horror Story clown...one Halloween, a guy dressed as that clown showed up at the drive through of my job and scared the crap out of me because I wasn't expecting it.

I'm indifferent to clowns. I don't feel scared of them but don't love them either.
