I have a job interview tomorrow morning for a combination book keeper, secretary role. Not crazy about the title, but they're paying a senior analyst hourly rate, so it's good. It's 2 days a week, which would be a good amount to reenter the job market.

I'm really nervous about having to explain all the gaps on my resume, but I know what I'm going to say.

Unless the people running the company turn out to be awful, I really hope I can get this job, because it, along with my disability payments, would be enough for me to support myself, without having to take money from my brother which is something I really want.

So I could use some good luck wishes.

Thanks.

GOOD LUCK!!! It is smart to have a plan to 'explain' gaps in your history. It is best if the reasons are proactive, your choice in other words.
Let us know how it goes!

Thanks everyone for the well wishes.

The interview went about as well as it could. Or at least I did as well as I think I could have.

It might be a case of it coming down to software. I don't know the software they use as it's specific to the building management industry. If they find a candidate who knows it, I'll probably lose out, but if they don't then I'll have a shot.

The hiring manager said he'd be away next week, so it might be a while before I hear back, which is stressful.

I'm going to fax off a thank you note this morning.

You did all that you could. Just going to the interview was a big achievement. Is there any way you could learn about the software that they use for future jobs? Fingers still crossed for the best outcome.
