Hello Community,

I am concerned that my anonymity has been compromised. Has anyone else experienced this on this forum?

Thanks,
HD7970ghz

I’m not concerned but if any of my Facebook friends made accounts on PC they could put two and two together and figure out who I was. So far that hasn’t happened. At least that I know of. But no I’m not concerned.

I am sorry that your anonymity may have been compromised. May I ask why you think this is?

My anonymity is something I search to regain on a regular basis. My personal character is very see-through. However, I do understand remaining anonymous may provide security and comfort. Would revealing your identity change the way you interact here on Psych Central? How important is your anonymity to you? I am also curious to see if anyone else is experiencing a similar problem?

I have used my real first name here for 8 years. I have never worried

Did something specific happen?

No. I made sure to use random answers and a random username in my profile.

Can you tell us what happened? Was this breach caused by something in the forum or was it something else?

I'm honestly not that concerned.

the people that have spoken to me on here are people who I've told about the site

now if those people started telling others and they started creating accounts, then I might be concerned.

but not for now

Similar to us in the UK, Canada is in the forefront of Data Protection. You might find this website interesting.

I don't care because there is nothing I say here that my friends wouldn't already know about me.

Years ago after moving to my farm here, I actually recognized a friend on here that I had gone to college with. He recognized me at the same time. It was nice reconnecting & we have moved our reconnecting family wise to FB to stay in contact.
