Hello miyathomas: I'm not able to offer home remedies for better skin care. However I noticed this is your first post here on PC. So... welcome to Psych Central. May I suggest you start out, here on PC, by introducing yourself over in the New Member Introductions forum? Here's a link:

https://psychcentralforums.com/new-m...introductions/

I hope you find PC to be of benefit.

When it comes to home remedies for better skin:

1) My mom used the juice of a fresh lime to remove age/sun spots on her face (it worked). It's also supposed to be able to keep your skin healthy.
2) Natural Oils (olive oil, coconut oil, almond oil etc) generally helps keep skin supple and youthful.
3) Shea butter helps keep your skin moisturized during winter and cold weather/ temperature in general. (For instance, when I worked in an office, I found my face would get dry and ashy due to AC, I used shea butter to remedy it.)
4) Using baking soda to wash your face. (Not every day)

These are the ones I've done that have had no adverse effects on my skin.

I see a dermatologist. When I started with perimenopause my skin acted up like I was a teenager. I gave a prescription retin cream and I use aveeno gentle foaming cleanser and aveeno positively radiant moisturizer. One thing is do not use a wash cloth. All that scrubbing is bad for the skin and it harbors bacteria. Occasionally I will use an exfoliator but thats it.

If you can give a few direct examples of your skin problem, I can make suggestions.
