I need help with my settings.
I don't want to miss those who tag me personally, or those who respond to my threads/posts, but I'm getting way too many emails. There are some subscriptions I want to keep up with, but there are other subscriptions (like the games) that I don't really need to keep up with. Then again, I probably just want an easier way to find those who reply to me without having to receive about 100 emails every week. Can someone help me with tips on where to go to change my email setting subscriptions, or how to unsubscribe from a thread but simply check it from time to time? It's easy enough for me to delete the emails that come in, but I just want to find a smooth way to make this all work. I've also been posting a lot, so that's also on me. Hee hee. |

Perhaps mark your emails as junk? Then eliminate them with all the rest of the junk? As far as the subsciptions go--you can just click unsubscribe. Look at PC as a place to go when you want to but try not to feel obligated to post everyday. The good thing about PC is that when you need to take a break--there are others here that reply to posts, etc. Most of us understand that people need to take breaks sometimes. It is OK if you don't reply to everthing!

you can edit your subscriptions in the " my profile" area of the site
basically: it's like a huge list of all your subscriptions, and you tick the ones you don't want anymore, then delete them from the folder. I discovered this recently too. I love it |

I may have to do the deleting of individual subscriptions via email, since I tried to delete the subscriptions, but it wouldn't let me on my profile page. It's gonna take me a long while though. I'm at 116 new email notifications, mostly from subscriptions, but some others (I subscribe to 5 things from CNN, hee hee). I'll deal. I feel like that "Oh, God!" movie, or one of those movies where "God" received texts and would do something to alleviate all the problems people complained about, but then "God" would get even more texts. It was a funny scene on some show (modernized from the original "Oh, God" series movies from a while back). I'm kind of laughing at this scenario with myself, so it's not that overwhelming. Still, I posted and responded a lot. I had no idea that every time I responded to someone, I'd automatically get signed up to subscribe to that post. I'm a social retard here right now, but I'll get better. :P |

UPDATE: I figured out the subscriptions and how to delete them and/or change them to no email notifications. I just clicked on subscriptions, and then clicked all of them (they are listed on multiple pages, so you have to go to each page and select all of them), went to the bottom of that list that was all checked, and used the drop-down menu to make a selection (you can delete, move, or change notification settings to a specific type of email preference), then hit "Save" I think. It worked!
I'm also learning the BB Code thingy slowly. It's not so intimidating anymore. Yay. |
