So my bathroom has a major plumbing problem and water is leaking into my neighbor's apartment below me. I've taken my whole bathroom apart and moved everything out. I don't own much, but it added up when I was carting it out. Shower curtain, everything a bathroom has in it.

The maintenance guys are supposed to be here to rip out my whole bathroom today. Said it would take 1 full day. Annnd it's 11:30. I haven't heard a word. I'm always on time and I'm reliable. It seems like I spend my life being frustrated with inconsistent people who are not dependable and are always late.I am so frustrated right now

So at 12:30 I went and knocked on the manager's door. Asked him if the maintenance dude is still coming today. "Ohh," he says, "he'll have to be coming tomorrow..."

I feel like screaming and crying. All the stuff in my bathroom is out. I have to rehang the shower curtain so I can take a shower tonight. Go through another night of feeling anxious in case the guy shows up early. I mean, no one could have called to let me know of the change of plans? Effing UGGGGH

This is one of my pet peeves and I am so sorry you are having to deal with it. Why vendors can't have the common courtesy to at least keep you in the loop when their schedule has changed I will never get. Hopefully, tomorrow they will show up bright and early, do the work, and then go home. Sending you positive vibes.

Thank you so much, I very much appreciate your post.

Whenever I've worked I have been responsible & trustworthy. If everyone respects others' time work projects go much more smoothly. I always pay my rent on time...seems to me that management could give me the same respect I give to them.

But, as you've said...hopefully it will all go smoothly tomorrow.

Isn't it infuriating when contractors don't arrive at the time we expect, then complain we are being unfair. I've had similar, a medical colleague promising to stand in for me when I was called out to a road accident to return, only to find my patient upset and still waiting.

I hope your situation will greatly improve today, that your contractors apologise and get your bathroom fixed. ((safe hugs))

This absolutely drives me nuts. One reason I feel so bummed about living arrangements. I used to have a rental and I hated waiting for things to get done then I got a condo and it is the same thing THEN I got on the condo board and it is the same thing.

It is just terrifying that people that do this work are so powerful

I'm sorry you have had such a ghastly experience!

Here is a tip to stand against bullies and all those 'so powerful' people: Stand close and stare at the point between their eyes. For your tormentor this is a most unnerving psychological experience.

I've used this tactic during the course of my career, even again a huge intimidating man. I guarantee it works.

I agree; it infuriates me too!! So disrespectful to the people who wait and give up an entire day of their time.

Did they show up?
