What a wonderful thread!

I used to sew for my generic Barbie! There were several little girls on my block when i was growing up (REALLY typical late 1950's!) and we would all get together and play with our Barbies, but some sessions were just for sewing outfits for them. I remember one session so well. Summer of course, and we were sitting all up and down the outside wooden stairs that led from the corner store (as in Dobie Gillis?) to the upstairs living area, i presume.

Oh yeah, I used to make clothes for Barbie and friends. And just to prove what a horse nut I am I used to make leg wraps and saddle pads for my model horses.

Did ceramics with my mom years ago. That was fun. I still have most of the stuff.

Way back in the day I stenciled designs around the house.

If I find the photo with a painting I had made (and then gave away), I will do my best to share it (through the steps you've revealed in a different post - the coffee post, I think).

As for altered board books, I'll post a few links below to offer examples. I gave away the altered books I had created in the past, and I reluctantly didn't take photos of them.

The Artistic Life: Altered Board Book Tutorial

There are books sold through Amazon and other places, as well as tutorials on YouTube. I just posted the few links I found on a Google search that didn't include Pinterest (I don't have an account) or Amazon.

Oh, and in the trauma treatment facility, they had this ceramics group, where I started off painting this ceramics piece before it broke. And then I decided to turn a mistake into a "mosaic," so I broke it some more - to represent the seven lands in my inner world, and to represent the alters. I created another mosaic for the trauma institution, which they placed on their wall, I believe. I don't know how to do mosaics, but I love to pretend that broken ceramics make great mosaic pieces once painted and then fired up to finish.

Altered books fascinate me. I'd love to take a class.

I made rag dolls in my childhood. Mommy rag doll and daddy rag doll and played pretend family all by myself. This family of mommy, daddy and me was a nice family and given me all the comfort I needed as a small child. My IRL mom and dad never knew about my pretend game,or they could have dished out more thinking that I am crazy.

I love to draw, it helps relax me. Coloring is fun too, I have tons of coloring books, those are good mindful activities. I've been wanting to make some homemade salt dough clay or whatever it's called to make ornaments or something. Also want to try making that popular colored slime stuff

Actually I don't do a lot of hand kneading anymore either. I have a heavy-duty Kitchen Aid mixer that does the bulk of the work for me. It's not actually a very good mixer for bread. But it's what I have & I make do.

Currently I’m knitting a scarf and started last year and stopped in the summer, but started up again recently. Also want to try baking cakes or cookies for the holidays, maybe taking a cooking class sometime. In the past I went to a meetup event that involved creating holiday cards and really enjoyed it even though I’m not super coordinated with making cards, mine did not look “perfect.”

Keep the handmade dough ornaments away from your dog. I made some, way back in the day. They turned out very nice. I was particularly proud of one that I painted while still raw before baking it, it turned out great! But our dog ate them all. She suffered no side effects so that was good.
