Who's with me? Who wants to go back to big hair, parachute pants, Duran Duran, and pretentious innocence? Seriously, where's the beef?

Hey @Row Jimmy I am strapped in with you! I have my pink fluorescent, off the shoulder sweatshirt on with my acid washed jeans and hi-top reeboks. I am rocking my jelly bracelets, blue eye shadow and side ponytail. I am ready to write with my scented markers and my trapper keeper. I will hand out freely my scratch and sniff stickers- I love my Lisa Frank school supplies. I learned to write well using my speak and spell and I will trade garbage pail kids with anyone. If its 1980 then I am in love with my Barbie magic curl doll and kissing barbie and my barbie dream house. I also love my moppets secret doll house and She-ra doll. I get around town on my big wheel. I have just seen the movie Xanadu and asked for a pair of roller skates and leg warmers and feel in love with Olivia Newton John. If its 1985 then I have my cabbage patch kid, my lite-brite and my little pony's. I have scalded myself on my easy-bake oven and color forms. I love strawberry shortcake and rainbow brite. I watch saturday morning cartoons and love the smurfs cartoon and the dungeons and dragons cartoon. My big favorite is Pee-wee's playhouse that comes on towards the end of the cartoons. I am totally into Cydie Lauper and the movie Annie. If its 1987 then I am listening to Tracy Chapman and U2. If its 1989 then I really want to see Dirty Dancing but my mom won't let me. Who else is with us?

I'm totally in. In the faux wood panelled basement of my parents' place listening to Rush on big speakers and trading mix tapes with friends. But I can live without the overwhelming smell of hairspray in the girls washroom.

I’ll put on my mini skirt, high heeled pumps, and bobby socks like the girl in the ZZ Top video “She’s Got Legs”!

Yes love the 80’s and I was a teen when MTV first came out. MTV was cool when it first came out and it was creative music videos, V-jays, and my favorite videos were Madonna, Robert Plant, VanHalen, and more such as Pat Benatar, Duran Duran. Loved Flock of Seagulls group since they had awesome hairdos. Really enjoyed Back to the Future movies and the music to that movie.

Early eighties. Art school...just a great time...right when videos were making a bigger impact on the scene. Creativity was having a little renaissance and I was young, half-crazy and worried about sweet nuttin'. A few of my favorite years right there.

Yes Cyndi Lauper was very cool and had awesome music and music videos. Do you remember jelly shoes.

Oh boy. 80s were cool. I didn’t grow up in the US but we had similar stuff popular.

High school, college, dating, getting married, having a kid all of that happened to me in the 80s. Fun times. Late 80s early 90s were rough though as we lived through gradual collapse of economy and change of political regime. Not an easy time. Some bad memories. I remember one morning walking to grocery store 3 times pushing a stroller hoping they delivered anything. Last time I went, they said they had a delivery but I missed it going back and forth as they sold everything quick. Don’t miss that.

I wore blue mascara in the 80s. Lol no kidding

I was writing and directing music videos in college and LOVED it. I regret not following that path tbh. I had a different take on them giving more depth and a surreal quality, cutting images to the beat of the music. I was good and really didn’t see anyone else doing that. But I got side tracked and took a different path.

Yes, I had jelly shoes and wore blue mascara with turquoise eye pencil on my lower lid- really made my eyes pop. I was also into the Stevie Nicks look and Flash Dance look. Also wore leg warmers with high heel pumps, lol.

I loved everything about the 80s. I came of age in 84, I remember Purple Rain and its wonderful soundtrack, I remember Chernobyl happening, MTV and in my local area the knock off V66, I remember the day Top Gun came out, every day then seemed like a magic gift even though I didn't know it at the time. I would go back in an instant.

Times did seem more innocent. Were they really? I think I'd have to say yes. Still, I wouldn't go back to the 80's, except that both of my children were born during that decade - I would go back to their births in a heartbeat.

Cool, now I want to try blue or green mascara or even purple to see if it makes my eyes stand out more.

My times sure weren’t so innocent. They were downright unsavory! Sex, drugs, rock and roll.

It was this: (see photos)

Well, I mean society in general was more innocent. Like, you do 'A', you get 'B.'

Now it's you do 'A' and who the he!l knows whether you'll get B, G, Z - or if you'll get anything at all.
