if you don't need it:

Don’t Need That $1,200 Stimulus Check? Here Are Places to Donate It. - The New York Times

Guess this applies if you live in the US.

Thanks for this Pachy. I plan to get gift cards to stores that sell groceries and other stuff to give to some of my really hard up clients. I will tell them "someone" donated the cards so they don't know I got them. I ask have a friend who is struggling. Going to give some of it to her too.

I already increased my monthly donation to a chain of homeless shelters that I support and I just ran up to the local clinic and donated bunch of supplies etc I don’t think we will get any kind of stimulus check though. First of all we have only partial loss of income, our main income is intact plus we make way more than 75k combined (if they go by combined household income).

But if I did get it I’d significantly increase my donations.

I have to pay off 2 huge credit card bills and this stimulus check will just about take care of it. Donating is a good idea though.

I just read that married couple with no kids will get stimulus if they make 150k or less combined.

I’ve also read that people need to hurry up and file taxes or they’ll go by 2018 taxes

I heard from a CPA that tax filing is not a necessity at least for those of us who don't make enough to bother filing & SS is not taxable on its own. Maybe for higher incomes it might help but IRS filing has been moved to July so I can't imagine they would use it for some & not for others.....just a thought

You are right and I forgot it was moved to summer. We do ours early because my husband’s OCD would make it hard for him to not know where we stand, he’d worry too much. We do it as soon as W2 comes in to get peace of mind

If I get one it's going to my daughter as she is in school and my sil lost his job from the virus.

We were just talking about it with my husband that we will send at least some to his daughter, she doesn’t make much, mine is fine financially.

We were talking about how when people encourage others to donate their check, they don’t know if people have families they might want to give money to before or instead of donation
