My hair was overdue for a cut before the pandemic hit, so now it's sufficiently long enough to bug me. Fortunately it's long enough to French braid, which is how I used to wear my hare when I had long hair in university.
So today, when I went out to my pharmacy to pick up meds, I got a headband, elastic bands, and bobby pins so I can at least keep it away from my face. |

My hairdressers put a Facebook post up with a warning not to be tempted to cut ones own hair because it will be much harder for them to put right.
They suggested hairbands, tying back, clips, accessories. They also said not to home colour but I home colour anyway all the time and mine looks fine. |

As soon as the virus hit (long before the salons closed), I decided not to go because my hairstylist is older than me and has had many health complications. I thought about calling her when the salon was still open and saying, "please don't go to work." Except for a couple of times where I found myself disappointed with the results of others, she is the only person that has cut and colored my hair for the past 15 years. We trust each other on a personal level. She cut my daughter and son's hair a few times when they were in middle school/high school. I respect her. I hope she is OK. I have been trimming the hair that falls into my eyes and that is about it....
My husband hair is nearly as long as mine. He is going for the brown with grey highlights Fabio look. |

Luckily, I got my hair cut, conditioned, and colored right before the hair salon closed for covid 19. I also had my eyebrows done. My husband, on the other hand, had been overdue for a haircut. He's been complaining about his hair. Coincidentally, his barber lives within walking-distance of us, but I'm sure he wouldn't cut hubby's hair outside of the shop.

I had this dream last night where I was at Lush cosmetics and I was trying to get my hair cut. Why at Lush I don’t know why. Then Lush turned into an Old Country Buffet and my ex coworker was cutting my hair and she was doing a **** job cutting it.
I guess I’m a bit preoccupied with my hair. __________________ Ridin' with Biden |

Heh, glad I'm not the only one feeling a bit stressed over my hair!
Like BirdDancer, I was lucky to have been in just before all this went down. But. My hair grows really fast. I used to dye my own hair and I really hated doing it, which is one reason I started letting someone else do it. I may have to do it myself again. Ugh. My haircut I'm not as concerned. It's a complicated cut, so no way I could manage it myself, but I'm cool with it growing some. It's a random enough look that such things are not particularly noticeable. Not that I want it to go *too* long without a cut, lol. I gave *some* thought to using this opportunity to go with the grey. But it's not the kind of grey I could deal with. I'm just not ready to go there yet. If anyone is rolling their eyes at this.... yeah, I realize this is among the least of issues going on right now. Doesn't mean I can't wish for a wishy-world where someone could do my hair. __________________ ********* Mr. Robot Makes me sick to the heart, Oh I feel so tired. There will be inches of gray roots for hairstylists to cover once Covid is over!

Maybe I can start getting into hats more, or if everyone is social distancing, from 6 feet away roots are much less noticeable.

Haha I am so glad I have no grey hair at all. It’s a mystery of genetics, my brother is all salt and pepper and he is a year younger than me. My mom had to dye her hair starting 40s, my dad was getting by his 50s and I still don’t have a single grey hair at 54. I am thanking stars lol My hair dresser says in her experience it’s very uncommon. But it sure saves me ton of money just having to cut and not dye

I'm doing okay. My hair is white and I put a platinum toner over it (I order the toner on Amazon). Frankly, the color is nicer than color I've paid $200 for.
As for the cut...I'd had mine cut really short just before the shite hit the fan. I'm just letting it grow. I didn't know there was any state that had open salons. Shame on them! Everyone should be sheltering in place. __________________ Last edited by *Beth*; Apr 10, 2020 at 12:35 PM.. |

I was lucky that I had my hair cut and colored literally two days before my salon closed because of the pandemic. I also got my eyebrows done. I'll admit that I have been a little lax about self-care since then, but when I do take care of it, it still looks good. My bangs are getting a little long, but my roots do not yet show gray hairs.

I was gonna buy some hair color this morning and I forgot, I went straight to the books. Brought a bunch of books. Really missing the library a lot more than the beauty shop.

Me, too! I live a block from a beautiful library and I need books desperately right now. Last I heard the library will remain closed until May 1st, which I know is not true. They stay closed until at least late May. __________________ |

I am very lucky my library service uses an app so we can download ebooks. It's limited but a wonderful resource in these strange uncertain times. My hair is going to be like cousin It, but on the upside not really going anywhere/seeing anyone. |
