I used to be part of this website allexperts.com, where you'd ask questions to a comunity and then they would email you back (usually someone who specialises on the subject) with a proper thought out answer

this site has since closed, but I actually found it really useful

is anything like this out their do you all know?

btw: I did find yahoo answers, but not sure I want a yahoo acount (I don't really like their service), and if I'm only asking a few questions, I'd rather use my own email address, not a custom yahoo one

I remember a website from the early 2000’s called Wonder.com. You didn’t need an account and you’d type your question into it and random people would answer it. You could ask any questions. Often stupid questions would be asked. Stupid answers would often be given. That got shut down around 2008 or so.

I was going to recommend Quora too, it comes up a lot when I search for stuff, although honestly, I'm not sure how tightly they regulate who can answer.

There are also a few specialized subreddits, depending on what you want to ask about. I don't know all of them, you'd have to hunt them down, but the ones I've seen have pretty good moderation to keep people who don't know what they're talking about from answering.

Medical Help Subreddit
AskHistorians
AskLegal: Justice for all.

I agree with the others that Quora is what you are likely looking for. Another option would be to find a relevant subreddit on Reddit.com and ask a question there. There's a subreddit for almost everything.

Even google is doing something for this. A lot of times recently i ask a longer question and it asks me if i want to like continue the conversation. I never have cuz it freaks me out every time.

reddit: the front page of the internet is a very popular website, that sort of falls under the umbrella of social media, but you can be there anonymously. They have what they call "subreddits" which are basically like forums under different topics. People have the ability to create their own subreddits, but there are so many there already, that most people search for a topic and they'll find a list of existing subreddits. Like the forums here at PC, some subreddits have "usuals" that visit there. People can post a topic (like a thread) and other Reddit.com users can respond with posts. A negative or positive is that people can downvote or upvote posts. Really popular topics/threads will trend. If you're at all interested in seeing one, they have a number for Bipolar Disorder. The best of that lot, in my view, is the r/BipolarReddit . It's not as nice as as PC's, in my view, but has a little different culture. It's absolutely not a site just for mental illness. Again, it has everything. I'm a usual on their cooking subreddit.

I sometimes answer things on Quora. I think it's a decent site. It can get a little boring though.

I answer questions on Quora every day. The thing with the site is its not only a factual Q&A site. There are many queries about did you ever experience or what do you think of type questions. There are lot of asking . at least to me, depressing, disturbing topics. Like these really give me the creeps. However overall I do use it and I find it useful. I'm on Reddit too. I go on there every day too. I enjoy commenting on various subreddits too.
