I was an only child. There was a lot of pressure to be perfect and they never wanted me to be independent. But at least I didn’t have to share financial resources with someone growing up and I didn’t have to compete with anyone for attention, nor did I have a sibling to bully me and beat me up, so I guess it’s good to be an only child.

I was oldest of two in my adopted family, I had a brother 18 months younger. I hated being oldest, I got blamed for everything.

Of my siblings, I'm the oldest. My two sisters are only 2-3 years apart from me in age while my brothers are still quite young.

I am the oldest. I have one brother and he is 2 and 1/2 years younger than me. But he acts older and is more bitter to the world than I am.
I'm more child like now as an adult than I was as a kid and He has never really been in a kid.
Growing up, we hated each other. Now, both of us in our 40s, we are more supportive of one another even though we don't get to see each other much.

I'm the youngest in my immediate family. I think it was a pretty good position to have, but when my siblings were still living at home, they often blamed me for many of their misdeeds.

I'm an only child. I admit I think I was a bit spoiled but I liked it and I turned out okay.

I was born to a family where I was the only child, but when they were unable to support me anymore (mainly abuse, but also the state of their house cause concern to the council), I was past to a family where I was the eldest of 3.

I'm the youngest. It changed my position in the family as the caretaker of my parents.

I am a middle child, and bear all the classic hallmarks of one: am creative, and thoroughly non-conformist, and am the arbiter in a lot of arguments between other family members. I always had to play the peaceckeeper/ level-head/ sensible (without being controlling) one.

As the oldest girl in my family, and awful lot of responsibility was laid on my shoulders at a fairly young age. A LOT was expected of me, and perfection (that unattainable goal) was high on the list.

I'm learning now how to shake off the weight of that last one.

Oldest of four. I feel pressured to set an example still in my early forties.
