Ok I admit it. I have been basically inside since March 16, 2020.

I work inside.

And I go to the grocery store.

That is it.

I have exhausted pretty much everything on Netflix and Amazon Prime..

What can I do?

I need some fun in my life.

Learn a new skill like a language, instrument, or cooking. Make art. Check in with your friends. Those are just some things that came to my mind. I have no idea if you'd enjoy them or not. Do you have any ideas on what you'd like to do? You said you need some fun in your life. That's pretty specific. It makes me think of play, which many of us need and enjoy, and forget about as adults. You might come up with some good stuff and lots more of it by typing "fun activities" or some variation into a search engine.

What I'm doing: learning how to knit a sweater, lots of zoom activities with others, reading novels, trying to laugh more (includes lots of looking at memes and youtube videos). I also just started taking a free class online about the elderly, because I volunteer with them. It's not exactly "fun" but it's interesting, engaging, and I enjoy it.

What you do is pretty-much what I do. So I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to offer much in the way of suggestions.

I'm right there with you. I don't even go to the store for groceries, as I have them delivered since I don't have a car. My big excitement is going to the pharmacy to pick up my meds every 2 weeks, and I usually have a coffee on a patio when I'm out.

I'm living for zoom meetings, I go to a couple that are specific for people in recovery and others that are put on by my mental health clubhouse.

I'm physically going into my clubhouse for the first time on the 18th and am really looking forward to that.

I need to organize my yarn and start a new knitting project as that keeps me pretty engaged. Otherwise it's mindless television and endless net surfing.

But I do make sure I schedule regular conversations with friends by phone. That helps.

And now I'm deep cleaning my apartment as I'm showing it to perspective new room mates.

But mostly I'm just massively bored.

I want to piggyback on what Skeezyks and splitimage said too. Despite the stuff I do, I am bored (and sometimes lonely) on a daily basis. Freaking covid...

I highly recommend Meetup - We are what we do There are 35 million meetup users & countless activities all over the place. Anything you can think of, drawing, hiking, restaurants, tennis, etc.

HA!

One of the other complicating factors is that my cat is not getting his sleep when I move around in the house. Now, I can move around with less noise on my second floor but if I am in the house I have to try to make less noise.

I have considered going to the zoo (there is one around me) but one drawback is I am so out of shape due to being in the house not sure if I could just make it around this large zoo area which normally wipes me out.

I have wanted to see if I could find a way to ride a horse, but so far haven't been able to find anything but "lessons" and I just want to ride one for like 1 day.

I enjoy movies the most and if it wasn't covid, I would be going to the movie theater but that is out.

I considered taking the train all over my state but that was an activity when I had a pass and I no longer have one of those.

In the olden days I might go to the library but I can't do that. I have downloaded some books but mostly they have been poor.

One of the complicating factors is that I am still working so these projects will have to be done around M-F 8:30 to 5:00.

And another complicating factor is that I don't want to spend a lot of money as i am trying to save.

Where are you guys finding the zoom groups. I have zoom so that would work.

I use supportgroupscentral.com to find support groups held on Zoom.

Thank you I will give that a shot.

Anyway, inspired by someone here, I went on a little treck to my grandma's house, which I haven't been to in 30 years. I almost made it, I got close but I got lost at the very end and just turned around.

On the route though, I stoped at Walden Pond... which I thought someone here said was something they wanted to visit again. It was mobbed so I just took a peek and left.

Then I drove by Orchard House which is right down the street. But due to construction it was impractical to stop. I did try to figure out which house around it was the Lawrence house but I couldn't.

I haven't been up that way in years but was kind of struck at how beautiful that area of my state is, but sadly seemed a little over populated. It seems they have allowed some unwise houses to be built on lots that are too close to each other.

Ok so ironically I found a farm that gives riding lessons that I drive by almost all the time and is right down the street from where I grew up as a kid. So I am calling this week to get a one time riding lesson. $100 bucks... but well I can check that off the bucket list.

Yeah I won't lie, I've had a ton of trouble on this front as well. I have basically not left the house for a while, and only leave to do important things like get meds and stuff. But honestly what's helped me is trying to get outside at least once a day (I don't know what the restrictions are like where you are). Honestly it's still hard even when I do get outside, but every little bit helps, and I won't feel quite as bad about myself later in the day if I get outside at least once. But I hear you. It's tough to get things going, at least for me.

I like taking walks. Though the weather has been super hot which I don't like. Anyway, taking walks connects me to the outside world and gets me out of feeling like I'm stuck inside all the time.

Other things I enjoy doing are reading. My library has ebooks and also curbside pickup so you can request items from their catalog and they'll call you when they're ready for you to go get them.

Listening to music is also a favorite pastime.

YouTube is fun, I'm subscribed to tons of channels on there, always something new to watch that you're interested in. It's endless, I could spend hours on there.

I like drawing and coloring, playing videogames, looking at stuff on Pinterest, trying new recipes. I've been learning to play the ukulele. Doing yoga. Journaling. There's lots of cool free education sites like duolingo (for learning foreign languages) and Khan Academy which has a bunch of different subjects.

I also have a blog and that's fun to write in.
