As a result of being on the patient advisory council at my psych hospital, I'm having some amazing opportunities to sit on hospital committees that are driving change.
My latest is an opportunity to speak to pharmacy students along with a psychiatrist. We're going to split a lecture to talk about meds, stigma, side effects, and the role pharmacists play in health care, I'm really excited about this because I rely on my pharmacist to keep me safe from any new meds that might have negative interactions with my current meds. splitimage |

A surgeon prescribed pain killer for me but the pharmacist knew that it would interact with the meds I was already taking so they contacted the surgeon and asked for something else. So many meds can interact with psych drugs. It is a good thing you are doing splitimage..... education. I hope these students know exactly what half life means.
